1. Ade summed it up in his post that starts with 'so no highway patrolman..'

    anyway just for saying....

For the 12th show in a row, Bruce has opened the encores with a different song:

    1. Melbourne-2 - 3/26 - We Are Alive
    2. Melbourne-3 - 3/27 - Jungleland
    3. Macedon-1 - 3/30 - If I Should Fall Behind (solo-acoustic)
    4. Macedon-2 - 3/31 - Born In The U.S.A.
    5. Oslo-1 - 4/29 - For You (solo piano)
    6. Oslo-2 - 4/30 - The Promise (solo piano)
    7. Stockholm-1 - 5/3 - Mountain Of Love (solo acoustic)
    8. Stockholm-2 - 5/4 - Seven Nights To Rock
    9. Turku-1 - 5/7 - Queen Of The Supermarket (solo acoustic)
    10. Turku-2 - 5/8 - Racing In The Street
    11. Stockholm-3 - 5/11 - Raise Your Hand
    12. Copenhagen - 5/14 - Brilliant Disguise

I wonder if it's just luck, or whether Bruce actually knows and is trying to have a different song every night? Would be cool if the tour finished on however many different songs in a row to start the encores
  3. it's all relative to what you expect and what your personal preferences are - i don't mind the full albums once in a while but not with such regularity and if he is going to do them regularly he should say so for those fans travelling to numeorous shows who have invested a massive amount of time and money based on the expectation of (as is usually the case) wildly differeing setlists and who will find themselves, if this trend continues, faced with a substantial proportion of the same songs on a three show rota.

if he's going to throw greetings, wiess, river and even nebraska into the mix up then bring it on.

    +1

We're not complaining as such.. More like just whinging/nitpicking
  5. I would love a full album if Bruce came out and did something like (to fit with WB Tour):

(no lights and no introductions or nothing)

    1. Badlands
    2. Adam Raised A Cain
    3. Something in the Night
    4. Candy's Room
    5. Racing In The Street
    6. The Promised Land
    7. Factory
    8. Streets of Fire
    9. Prove It All Night (78)
    10. Darkness on the Edge of Town
    11. We Take Care of Our Own
    12. Wrecking Ball
    13. Death To My Hometown
    14. Out In The Street
    15. Incident
    16. The River
    17. Atlantic City
    18. Shackled and Drawn
    19. The Rising
    20. Lonesome Day
    21. Land of Hope and Dreams

    22. Thunder Road
    23. Night
    24. Because the Night
    25. Dancing In The Dark
    26. Tenth Ave
    27. Rosalita
    28. Twist and Shout

(crowd thinks Bruce forgot BTR, cheers like shit and goes nuts when they come back)

    29. Born To Run

    Latas
  6. My post wasn't really directed at you guys here, but more on the people on Greasy Lake (It's called like that, right) I followed the show there last night and it suprised me the negative way they look at the setlists.

As U2 fans we are used to have stable, almost never changing, setlists. So for me this is something new and I am impressed by the way they keeps changing up. Of course there are some songs, or albums, which I dont like to have in the setlist but still they keep amazing me with the changes every night.

Unfortunately. Imagine what U2 could do just by changing 6-7 songs a night. Even just those 6-7 from about 30 other songs. That would be revolutionary!
  8. dylbagz it's funny you should mention it but i was thinking if he put the full albums at the start it makes more sense - opening with thunder road, badlands, born in the usa makes more sense and disturbs less of the show in the end. I know leeds is the smallest venue on the tour but what's next in size anyone know. They have to be the contenders if wiess/greetings is coming out. I don't think he'll do a full album in leeds as it's not much bigger than some theatres in the uk
  9. Yeah I think they have to open (or close, but only BTR). Darkness and BITUSA don't have that special something to end the night on, but BTR does. Born to Run would still be in the encores in basically its same spot, and that would be a fantastic way to rip into a full album. I don't think WEISS or Greetings will come out. If they were I'd say that they would pop up on a multiple night stand, that would probably draw that most die hards, cause let's face it, who else even knows a single track from those two otherwise.
  10. these are the things that concern me about the full albums or more particularly, born to run, darkness and bitusa.

is he saying: these are my three best albums, these are the only albums that work in concerts, these are the only albums most of you know, these are the only albums i/the band want to play.Other than the latter which we all don't know the answer to i'd argue against all three ideas but i just thought i'd give the rest of you something to think about.
  11. I think it's more of a thing to please the majority, cause let's face it, they pay Bruce's bills. If he did a show at an arena where the whole 12k people had to have seen Bruce half a dozen times to get a ticket, then I don't think the guys on stage would think twice about playing anything. But when 1% of the crowd even knows what's on the last side of the river or has even remotely heard of something called the New York City Serenade, I don't think it's in BS's best interests to pull too much of that sort of stuff out.
  12. And they are probably the only ones that work well in concert, to that popularity / mainstream thing. Imagine how many toilet break / beer break songs there'd be for the casuals at a full Nebraska gig. Bruce may as well be at his rehearsal hall.
