1. Nice little camera.

I really need to change my concert camera. I'm currently using a little Canon ELPH 300, but I've been using it for almost 3 years and I think I could find a more decent one to do the job with a reasonable price...
  2. I just use my trusty old camera - Samsung Galaxy SII
  3. Thinking about buying a D5100, or should I go for the D3200 instead? The D5100 has the rotatable screen and slightly better low light performance. Since I like morning / evening photography I think I am better off with the D5100 ?

D5100 for sure! A friend of mine just got one and fell in love with it.
  5. RISING MOON OMG OMG OMG

  6. Image quality is very similar to the D3200. D3200 has better video, but less photograpy features. No bracketing, coarser control in manual ISO settings, and 12 bit RAW vs the D5100's 14 bit RAW files.

Marginal differences really, but I think I will go for the D5100.
  7. Do you need video though? I think that unless you're actually filmmaking, there's little point worrying about the video capabilities. It sounds as though the D5100 has more features related to it's primary use, so I'd probably go for that myself. A glowing recommendation from Aidan is also good. The rotating screen is something I considered to be a useless gimmick, until I actually used it. I've used it more times than I care to remember, it really does make life easier.
  8. Yeah I will go for the D5100, my mom used to have it before she went to the worse, but smaller, Nikon 1V1.

Video on the D5100 isnt too bad, just less framerates / resolutions available still 1920x1080 x 30 fps
  9. Thanks for your input guys
  10. I look forward to seeing some windmills
  11. Hahaha I will provide! There is annual sale next week (public secret) and then I will buy it During daylight it wont be anything better than the D3100 I used to have.
