1. If there's one PJ album (beyond the studio albums, that is) that an "emerging" fan should get, it's got to be the Benaroya Hall set.

I really like this album because of it's mood - it's obviously not like any other show due to it's unplugged nature. Also, many songs that I don't really give a lot of thought in the usual PJ bootlegs (songs like "Around the Bend," "Lowlight," "Thin Air," "Thumbing My Way," and "All or None" - they tend to bring the energy down in an intense PJ show) come off very, very, very, very well in this performance.

Best sounding live release ever. The acoustics are unreal.

True it's amazing. Love to see the version of Black on youtube.
One of these shows you think wish I was there, like with Pinkpop 92.
And it came with the highly collectable vinyl, which I don't own by the way.
  4. ^Only 2000 of them original printed, if wikipedia informs me correctly.

I suppose a nice "companion" to the BH set is CD1 from Mansfield 3, 2003. There are some very nice versions of songs on that one that aren't on BH, namely "Long Road," "Sometimes," "All Those Yesterdays," "Footsteps," and "Indifference."
  5. Binaural is 13 today. I loved that tour....time flies....wow.
  6. I'm listening to Woodlands #1 (2000) as I respond to your post.

    I'm getting there!

  7. DMB kick off their summer tour tomorrow night at the Woodlands......

I long for the days when PJ were PJ...
  8. You'll take any chance you can to get in a "plug" for DMB, won't you Ed?

  9. Do you have your airline tickets ready?
  10. Hey, Ron? Do you still want to do the "show of the month?"

Just wondering. No pressure - I'm sure you have better things to do than review concerts that took place over a decade ago. Sadly, I don't. Well, I do but I like to procrastinate from time to time.

  11. Hahahaha...I like to give DMB a shout out and a slight kick to PJ.....as they don't do much anymore....

Im going to my 5 DMB shows in June soon enough Matt....the best shows this summer I believe are going to be my 2 in July, at West Palm Beach...they are always great there....
