i think incident has a very loyal following and outside of that most people would wonder what the fuss is about. If i was forced to choose my favourite song it would come down to that or the much more obvious thunder road - on 99% of days though i'd go with incident now. It was for many years one of the great lost songs live, only appeared once on the river tour, never again until 1999. It had a brief spell in 2007 where it almost became a regular event but it seems to be vanishing again. I'm with you all the way on born in the usa, strangely i don't mind dancing in the dark as it is what it is a hit for the encores and downbound train is welcome anytime, and i wouldn't mind a few more cover me's and an odd i'm on fire. darlington county and working on the highway i could happily never hear again i just don't get why they are so frequent. Bobby jean and no surrender are clearly joined at the hip but should be on the subs bench in my opinion. Born in the usa really has had it's day as a song, glory days seems to be done on autopilot plus it's another song like darlington and working where he can mess about for ten minutes with false endings etc etc. I don't even know why i'm going down was on the album given what was left off and my hometown was very much of it's time.

+1 to just about all of that.

I do have a very soft spot for Bobby Jean though, and Downbound Train is one of my favourite songs. Other than that though, never hearing anything from BITUSA again wouldn't particularly worry me.

I love Incident, but to me, there are better epics for Bruce to play (Racing in the Street, Backstreets)..
  2. And Hanging Rock 2, what a start... I could have left happy after those four. To get Adam Raised a Cain > Candy's Room > She's the One > Something in the Night as the opening sequence, wow. Then Bruce went and gave us Incident, Because the Night, Jackson Cage and (I love the Rising record) Lonesome Day into the Rising and Rosie came out in the encores.. Pretty amazing show in my book.

it walks all over any of the european shows i've heard so far - the sound is ok on the recording as well so i'd suggest a download to anyone, see a few posts back.

padova and napoli recordings are on the horizon.
  4. God I chose a couple good shows to see on the tour. Finally a band comes to town on a tour and I get to see some of the amazing shows they do, not just ok ones!

I think U2's Brisbane shows were pretty outstanding, but alas, no recordings have arisen yet for me to make sure they were really as great as I thought.

Still think the tour should have finished up over here.

  10. Nice you had fun Ron Sure tomorrow will be even better, since Milano always gives shows something extra (Bruce last year, U2 2009 and 2005 and ofcourse 1992)
