Surely they plan on having a physical product in the stores for the Christmas market which would mean a single and promo duties from late October/early November. I see the MTV EMA's are on the 10th of November, 2013!
Mixing, mastering, artwork design, etc. over the next couple of months. It's hard to see them releasing in August as it's not a traditional month for sales/releases. I'd say mid to late autumn is realistic.
I'm curious to see whether they've pursued the complimentary app idea to go with the album. That will bring further delay, but Bono has not been as vocal recently about the idea of expanding the idea of an album.
  2. I actually don't want too much fuss. Just two types of release normal and a bonus edition with some bonus tracks. No box set shizzle or apps or whatever please.
  3. I just want it on CD and vinyl. That's it
  4. Hopefully the lead single is worthy of the role this time around (nothing against boots, but there were other songs on NLOTH which were better suited).
  5. Hopefully no "movie" a la Linear because even though it's alright, how many of us have watched it more than a handful of times since the release?

Not much but the whole concept was useless after they had rewritten the songs. They should have released it with the earlier versions.

Only used it to get Winter. Apart from that, it's a great piece of 'film' if you're drunk.
  9. New U2 album in Autumn according to Gay Byrne.....

Gay Byrne has revealed Bono knows people laugh at him for his campaigning work but doesn’t care. The veteran broadcaster got up close and personal with the U2 frontman for his Meaning Of Life show which will be broadcast next week. He revealed: “I’d asked Bono to do the show before and he wasn’t available. Also he said he didn’t want to do it but he did. “Eventually it happened. This is about his innermost beliefs, his religion and he wanted to keep it separate from the bigger U2 story, the new album in the autumn and so on.

*As you can see from above, Gay Byrne mentions new album "in the autumn". Bono must have said something regarding the new U2 album when being interviewed by Gay Byrne on RTÉ Television. The interview will broadcast on Tuesday 25th June, RTÉ One 9.35pm (Irish TV & time). Viewers in Ireland will only see the interview - that's until it becomes available online to watch (ie; Youtube or another online source)
  10. I'm liking the sound of an autumn release! That's not all that far away!
  11. Autumn ends on December 21st - just sayin'
