Not excited by any of the Apple news today. IOS7 looks a little cartoony to me. Almost like good old Symbian Belle.

People in my twitter timeline were drooling all over iOS7 news but I didn't find it that exciting either.

It would have been bigger news if they had introduced themes but to just introduce a single theme of their own and call it a UI overhaul is a bit underwhelming.

If I buy those, will they plug in straight via stereo in to my mac or will I have to buy an adapter of sorts?

The ad doesn't give a clue regarding their in/outputs, but if they have this kind of inputs (which I assume they have)

then you need an adapter - but an easy, cheap one. I have one myself.

My audio chain is:

PC > minijack male/male cable > minijack female to RCA stereo male adapter > bookshelf speakers + subwoofer.

You can of course skip a step by directly buying a minijack male to RCA stereo male cable, like this:

Ah yes. I have both those sets of cables somewhere around here. Should work then - thanks Sergio.

EDIT: Went and found some decent 5.1 Altec Lansing speakers - great sound for less than half the price at a second-hand store. Hooked them up and they sound great so far - but now need to get a 5.1 split cable (centre / sub + front +) rear to have the lot working.

Still, better than using the thin-as-shit Mac sound through the inbuilt speakers.
