1. I don't know if I would be able to switch to a fixed-length lens after being so used to have different lengths and zooms

  2. It's really cheap so you won't have any regrets if you buy one. It's 78 pounds on Amazon.

Any you'll learn a lot about photography. You won't have any zoom, so yeah, you'll depend only on your movement.
  3. Really considering buying one after seeing your photos, my friend!
  4. Plus more light which means the ISO sensitivity can be lowered.

  5. In low light zoom lenses often have crappy performance. The kitlens on my nikon has f/5.6 at 55 mm (probably at 50 mm as well). The prime has f/1.8. This means the prime will gather up to 9 times more light at the same 50 mm.

    (5.6/1.8)^2 = 9.67

So if you are in a dark club at night that means that instead of ISO 3200 you could shoot at ISO 330. Or lower your exposure time by the same factor.
  6. It also has some 'disadvantages', depth of field at f/1.8 is much smaller than at f/5.6. Sometimes you want this, sometimes you dont. The drummer photo is an example why you would want this.

I know the advantages : I'm just saying that not having any zoom would be really difficult for me, depending only on your body positioning and movement is another kind of photography completely (harder).
  8. Awesome shot
  9. Not a recent photo, but didnt look at the SD card till now. So still with my old cam (the D3100). Only some RAW operations
