  1. Ok, please don't tell me I'm going insane...I have a copy of the U2 B-sides, 1980-90 and is it just me or does All I want is you have October (the song, not obviously the album!) cut into the end of it? I didn't notice until just recently, does anybody know the reason for it?

    You're not going insane - it's a hidden track. I love hidden tracks.

    I just bought Bruce Springsteen's Magic and I was playing that and a last track plays called Terry's Song - a hidden track!
  3. I remember when I first heard this hidden track, it really had a big impact on me as it was the first time I heard 'October'. All I Want Is You is not a very happy song to say the least, but with the long break and October as a following - it was quite depressing.
  4. October is a weird song. The what was to become one of the biggest bands in the world making a vocals and piano track for their second album. But I do like All I Want Is You - when Honolulu and Buenos Aires 2006 had those as their ending songs that really made me happy.

    And at the end of Boy on certain vinyl copies and some CD releases (of which I have one), Shadows and Tall Trees) is a 30second instrumental version of Fire. I'd like to hear October played as an opening track - it'd be something different.

    it could be intersting as an opening track, but i think it's more suitable to the acustic part in the milddle.
    if we talk about hidden tracks i never understood the meaning of the "alarm" in the end of the Wanderer in Zoorpa. does anyone has any idea?

    It's the sound DJs hear when there's ten seconds of dead air - essentially, a way of saying nothing is on.

    I think it was either served as part of 'The Wanderer' (the main hero's journey has come to an end) or as a warning to Europe (switching back to the opening sequence of the album), or just a weird noise, to end an album full of weird noises in a stylistic way. All of these has some reasons behind it. Some releases even left off this noise.
