1. I'm not a casual fan but I'm not a hardcore either. I don't think that a casual knows how to play over 20 Bruce songs on guitar. But I don't know each one of the b-sides released through the years either
  2. personally i think there's a few things going on. I suspect we're in 'stubborn Bruce' territory - a well documented, oft-travelled area over the years. Bruce wants to play those albums and he's going to play them come what may. The only person who would have been aware of how it was going down with a certain section of fans would have been clarence as he's the only one known to have been on the forums. Whether clarence would have said anything is anyone's guess as Bruce lives in his own cocooned world. I also think that the lack of soundchecks on the european tour is affecting it. Not only in terms of sound quality at the venues - another well trod forum gripe from the last couple of months - but also in terms of song choice, they are simply not rehearsing together. Now is this because they are on auto-pilot, is it because they don't feel they have to or is it something more serious. Are there tensions in the band, is it a leg too far on the tour which, ignoring the rock in rio concert in september, will have gone from march 2012 - july 2013. Yes there have been breaks but it's a long time to be in that mindset - let alone three to four hours on stage at a lot of their ages. Another theory doing the rounds is that they are trying to cobble together a live version of born in the usa to include in the box set. Although this can only be based on the take of darkness included in it's box. It's certainly not based on any concrete or even inside information. With Bruce being unhappy about the takes of darkness recorded live in 2009 they had to reconvene to shoot it for the box, maybe he's trying to avoid doing that.
  3. I didn't know Clarence visited the forums! Anyway I'm sure Bruce or his management office has someone looking (more often or not, I can't tell) at what fans and social networks say regarding his shows, as most bands do. I think it's just a matter of stubborness. If I were him, I would think "I've reached a point where I can play whatever I want without explaining or justifying myself, so I will". If he enjoys playing that 3 albums the most, he will. Simple as that.

That being said, the box-set theory makes some sense too - but then again, playing other full albums detracts from that!
  4. I think there's excessive whining in this thread. I was at a BITUSA concert. It was great. Bruce plays for the entire crowd, not only the 50 hardcores up front. People love Born In The USA. Playing it makes fans happy. I was initially a bit critical towards it, feeling I'd get it and not wanting it (it isn't my favorite Bruce album by any means, that's Nebraska. To me it's too mainstream and such), but wow was it amazing live. I'm in rather good shape and I was really tired after BITUSA, so many energetic songs to jump to. No Surrender was the highlight of the concert.

You're just so wrong. We all know what most of the internet is.
  10. The reason that Springsteen also played Born in the Usa at Hard Rock Calling could be the fact that there where many technical problems at the beginning and also the stage was not finished when Springsteen started. (so a safe concert)
