1. Will probably fly back in a 737-800, there are two airlines with direct connection using those this summer.
  2. I didn't remember the name of Ohrid, but I knew you have gone to Macedonia many times. So I guess you speak at least a bit of those beautiful-but-born-in-hell slavic languages?
  3. Yeah, a bit of Macedonian. Serbian is much sexier though <3 . Unfortunately it is not easily exchangeable. Some words are different and Serbian pronunciation is much more smooth. Macedonian is much more similar to Bulgarian than to Serbian.
  4. I get you. All of them are equally fascinating to me though
  5. By the way, seeing pics of Ohrid and other cities and villages has got me CRAVING to visit some of the slavic countries so badly. I have Dubrovnik, Split, of course Sarajevo, Belgrad etc on my to-visit list. Let's see if next year... Maybe...
  6. Well they are 'easy' to learn, almost completely phonetic. I can read out loud words i dont understand without sounding crazy Impossible in English.

Balkan is great to trip around. Distances are small, but takes lots of time. Belgrade - Ohrid is 8 hours at least by bus (the direct line). But other busses take 11 hours easily. Trains are possibility, but slow in South Serbia and Ohrid has no train station in the proximity (1 hour away is a station which is served 1 or twice a day I think)

Ohrid - Dubrovnik is about as far as Ohrid - Belgrade. But no direct connection. Will take you at least a day. All cities you mention have airports though. But it will be expensive.

If you have a car available I would recommend a circle like this:

    * Adriatic coast from croatia down to Albania (all major Croatian, Montenegrian are on the road). And the road is stunning!

    * Visit Mostar - Sarajevo (not on the road though, but hard to combine any other way)

    * Albania to Ohrid, which is not so far.

    * Ohrid - Belgrade which can be done in 8 hours as I mentioned. Can have short stop in Skopje (perhaps Nis in south serbia as well).

    * Belgrade - Zagreb - Venice or so

    Try Prague too
  8. Believe me if I tell you that I've done a screenshot of your post and saved it deep and safe in my hard disk. Thanks.
  9. Of course Alvin! Central Europe is on my itinerary too, I visited Austria many years ago and fell in love with it, and I've been told that Prague is one of the most beautiful cities around. Be sure that you'll have me there sometime, hopefully soon (maybe when U2 comes near in the nbext tour)!

I hope so. U2 have been here just on Popmart tour and thats all... If they are doing indoor tour, we have the most modern arena in central europe, so there's no reason not to come here :-)
And we are slavians too lol
