1. ^ Have you listened to it yet?

My album of the day is...

  2. yeah i've had it on a few times now. there's a few good moments but it just leans a tad too much towards the ambient side of things, which is frustrating 'coz there's some good song ideas floating around on it but they never seem to develop. that's my initial opinion but it could change.

    love Medazzaland btw.

There are some gems on it but you're right when saying that it never actually takes off. A shame.
  4. Today's album... Still not much into them, but at least I can stand their music not. I'm seeing them next month so I'd better get used to liking them! haha

A few of the 'pure ambient' albums by Eno are like that. Apollo and Films are two examples - they have great ideas and concepts but they never seem to really finish anywhere. Have you ever given those a listen?

Passengers is an album that does take a lot of listening to get into. It's ultimately rewarding in the end hearing such cool little subtle pieces of sound that go nowhere but sometimes seem to work.

Always Forever Now, Slug, Beach Sequence, Plot 180 and Your Blue Room are my favourites.

Medazzaland is incredible - not one bad song on it. May as well finish off the duality of that album with this, its less experimental friend:

  6. Blunderbuss by Jack White. I loved it on release then got sick of it then rediscovered my love of Jack White and White Stripes after hearing I'm Shaking on a Boardwalk Empire advert.
  7. PRIMAL SCREAM - MORE LIGHT
