1. So I was thinking today about all those songs that U2 have either never played live or only played a handful of times.

    I'm thinking of songs like:

    -Drowning Man
    -Like A Song
    -Red Hill Mining Town
    -Hawkmoon 269
    -Acrobat
-Some Days Are Better Than Others
    -Do You Feel Loved
-When I Look At The World
    -Fez - Being Born
    -Cedars Of Lebanon

First off, did I miss any? Second, which do you think needs most desperately to be played live?

I think my vote goes to Red Hill Mining Town.
  2. Acrobat never sounded live. That makes me sad
  3. I guess you only want album songs (if you count B-sides the list is huuuuge)... Some come to mind - I'm sure I will forget others.

    Red Light
    Stranger In A Strange Land
    Heartland
When I Look At The World
    Stand Up Comedy
    One Step Closer
    Grace
Playboy Mansion (debatable due to the Streets snippets, but anyway)
    White As Snow
    Promenade
    4th of July

PS. Hawkmoon 269?? Really? It was played a good bunch of times during the Lovetown Tour.
  4. Personally, I'd really like to hear When I look at the world and Fez-Being Born live, but I suppose I won't be that lucky...
  5. Off the listed songs, I'd like to hear Acrobat, Fez and Heartland the most.

And well, don't get me started on Like A Song.
  6. When I Look At The World would be great live, dunno why they never gave it a go.
  7. Acrobat and Fez-Being Born sound killer to me live. But some "lost" songs I would LOVE to hear live are (but not limited to):

    -Do You Feel Loved
    -Promenade
    -Red Light
    -Seconds
    -Grace
    -Indian Summer Sky
    -Wild Honey
-Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses
-Two Hearts Beat As One (Even the Lovetown Rendition)
-Discotheque (Can't decide between the harder Vertigo Tour version or the PopMart Tour original)

A special mention for A Sort Of Homecoming because of it's sheer brilliance, sweeping theatrics and epic atmosphere. How I would LOVE to hear this song live, at least if Bono's voice can handle it for one night.

Wasn't Hawkmoon only played about 8 times during Lovetown? It has never been played since. I'd love to see it return to the setlist next tour.

Something like 9 or 10, yes. But I think I might have misunderstood this topic, then. I thought we were speaking of songs that have never or close-to-never (aka Like A Song) been played before. I wouldn't put Hawkmoon into that group.
  10. I purposely left the definition of "lost" open, but I suppose in the Interest of clarity I will say that if you can count the number if times said song has been played on your fingers then it is allowed here. I guess because of Discotheque and Wild Horses we an also throw it open to songs that were never quite nailed live.

And great suggestions! My list was in no way exhaustive. Just some songs I personally would like to hear.
  11. Ah, I get you now. Then I would like to throw Crumbs From Your Table and Slow Dancing in there.
