1. haha, that's why we differ.

    Take a Bow
    Starlight
    Supermassive Black Hole
    Map of the Problematique
    Soldier's Poem
    Invincible
    Assassin
    Exo-Politics
    City of Delusion
    Hoodoo
    Knights of Cydonia
    Glorious*

I'd take Exo-Politics over Invincible, City Of Delusion over Starlight and Assasin over Supermassive Black Hole anyway.
And Glorious over all of them too, even if it's not in the regular tracklist
  2. I do like Assassin quite a bit and got Exo-Politics on your recommendation a few months back.

Admittedly, I haven't listened to some of the "deeper cuts" on BHAR. I suppose (you think) I should!
  3. Well, BHAR marked the beggining of the new-Muse (aka post-2005 Muse), which I don't like as much as pre-2005 so I am really not passionate about it at all

What's the "big songs" of BHAR for you? I guess we differ on that too

    First five and Knights.
  5. Well I wouldn't call it a big song but I like it so I couldn't be bothered to differentiate it

I see (and hear) what you mean but, for the most part, I'm okay with BHAR. The two albums afterwards....not so much.

So I guess you don't like them after that cause they 'sold out' eh?

I don't really know much prior to BH&R

  8. I don't mind BH&R that much. It did help me to get into Muse but I do prefer the previous three albums after extensive listening. BH&R is still very good in my opinion though. The last two albums is where I draw the line in the sand. Hopefully the tide will wash them away one day.
  9. From what I've listened to...

I'd say it's a toss up between OoS and Absolution as to what their best album is (Why do I have a feeling this is like saying U2's best album is either JT or AB?????). Anyway, I think PIB[/i], NB, Bliss, and Citizen Erased are absolutely fantastic - four of my favourite songs by the band - but I like more songs from Absolution.

After that, I'd go with BHAR and then Showbiz at a distant fourth. However, I need more time with these two albums to make the ranking "official."

I'd put The Resistance and The 2nd Law in the bottom two spots (in that order). I just can't get into them. A couple of songs off each of them are okay but nowhere near the level of the other stuff.
  10. You're right Matt, OOS/Absolution is like TJT or Achtung.

    For me:

    1 - OOS / Absolution
    2 - Absolution / OOS
    3 - Showbiz
    4 - BHAR
    5 - The Resistance
    6 - The 2nd Law

And no, Dylan, I couldn't care less about them becoming commercial or selling out. It has to do with the music itself. I just don't like their post-2005 style as much as I like the pre-2005 - simple as that. There are some post-2005 which I completely ADORE and some pre-2005 songs that I plain HATE, but in the big scheme, I prefer the pre-2005 era largely.
  11. Spam.
