1. i listened to the essexboy is (almost as usual) is quite good .. never heard of the other taper so i can't compare

about Leeds, Ade have you seen a dvd came out? i downloaded it ..
  2. I think the version I have is the essexboy version also. It is good enough, but I would definitely appreciate a better recording - was a terrific setlist.

On another note, how good is 2012-08-15 - Boston - Fenway 2?
  3. 2013-06-15 London (Crystal Cat release) (IEM, MP3, tagged):

Courtesy of Loftarasa. Allegedly, the best sounding 2013 bootleg.

according to brucebase he planned to play all of wiess but got sidetracked in the requests! what they are basing this on - unless they've got a handwritten setlist, which would be easy to fake, is anyone's guess, maybe madam marie told them.
  5. Although I think he intended to play it.. The other half nearly came out at your show!
  6. Listening to CC's Wembley.

Meh. I miss his natural audience tapes, like Atlantic City 2003.

Bakerstuff version of Boston is quite good.
  8. I've never been a fan of IEMs at all but I have to admit that they have dramatically improved in quality since 2008-2010 (I mostly listen to U2 bootlegs but anyway). Pre-2008 IEMs are unlistenable to me, nowadays they sound like soundboards.

Nothing beats a good audience recording for me anyway.
  9. I just don't like how they practically remove the audience noise. Sometimes they sound like they're performing in an empty arena/stadium.

That's obviously their biggest fault for me. What I like the most about live performances is the fedback, the electricity, the connection between the performer and the audience, and of course the singalongs and audience reactions to what's being played (and the artists reaction to the audience behaviour)... IEMs -and, to a lesser extent, soundboards- delete that sound and therefore kill much of the show emotions for me.

Others would argue that soundboards and IEMs have the best sound quality with all the instrument being well defined and listenable, etc... It's true most of the times, but if I want to hear a perfectly defined instrumentalization, I go and listen a studio album. I listen to live recordings to get a LIVE feeling, something that sadly doesn't come across too well on IEM recordings.
