1. Same! That'd be ideal, or like on a Monday they'll announce it on U2.com "new song out Friday..." I'd be down for that too

You might want to check Pedro's post in the Latest U2 News thread. Nothing majorly new but it gives hope!

But then Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday would drag on forever haha

Y'know what this remindes me of? U2's ability to reinvent themselves completely in the opposite direction of a current music trend. Example: in the 80s thier music was known for feeling so out of what was the most popular at that time: New Wave; in the 90s, the bands exploration of European textures while Grunge and Britpop were all the rage.

At this point with all the shock Pop music and the riegn of Pop in this time, the bands new album is bound to sound in the opposite of what's current today: Gaga, Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, etc.

Of course I could be wrong but when it look at the bands history, I can't help but see a connection here.

To be fair Achtung Baby came out before grunge really took off, and if you read At The End Of The World there's a few parts where the band talk about how they were a little peeved that grunge was being called alternative when they had worked so hard to change the rock scene.

    Just getting technical
  5. I want to do this album leak free, it could be the last time i can go to my local music store and buy the new U2 record
  6. You can still do that with a leak If you mean the unique sensation of putting on the record and listen it all for the very first time... Yeah, it's magic. And even if itn's not the last one, I want it too

I haven't read At The End Of The World nor do I have the book, but my copy of U2 By U2 might suffice. I appreciate the correction.

I tend to talk technical all the time (though math is my worst subject ever ).

Dude, you have to get 'At The End of The world'. It's the most brilliant U2-related book, IMO.

    Agree with Yogi.

U2byU2 is awesome, but Until The End of the World really makes you feel like you're on tour with them during ZooTV, it has great stories and great behind the scenes stuff, and you really get a sense of how they were all thinking at the time, and the best part, it really makes you feel like you know them and understand them

I just want it to be like David Bowie's approach. All of a sudden, he's releasing a new album and instantly we have a new song. I just want it to come out of nowhere.

then the problem is they're not reaching an agreement on what birthday make the announcement and the release of the first song
