1. I hereby declare Fenech-Soler's 'Rituals' the best 2013 album, full stop.
  2. Anyone listened to Paul McCartney's new album (Called NEW)?? Great album, one of the best I have heard this year.

  3. Fair play, good to see i'm not the only one who likes this album !!!!
  4. I was a bit bored, so decides to make a list of my favourite 2013 albums.

Avicii - True (Wake Me Up)
Bastille - Bad Blood (Things We Lost in the Fire)
Daft Punk - Random Access Memories (Get Lucky)
Drake - Nothing Was the Same (Hold On, We're Going Home)
    Fenech-Soler - Rituals (All I Know)
Jay Z - Magna Carta... Holy Grail (Holy Grail)
John Legend - Love in the Future (Made to Love)
Justin Timberlake - The 20/20 Experience 1 (Tunnel Vision)
Justin Timberlake - The 20/20 Experience 2 (Cabaret)
Kanye West - Yeezus (Hold My Liquor)
The Boxer Rebellion - Promises (Diamonds)
Tired Pony - The Ghost of the Mountain (All Things All At Once)

I feel like 2013 is a bad year for rock, so I listen to a lot of R&B and hip hop.
  5. Couldn't get into the Drake album, Fabian. Tell me what it is you like about it so I can give it another listen with a different perspective in mind!

I checked out another Justin Vernon (of Bon Iver, Shouting Matches) side project yesterday - Volcano Choir. Album was decent, but sounded like a lesser form of Bon Iver.

Still better than a lot of what I've heard this year, maybe top 30 material.

Sorry but I couldn't help but laugh when I saw the first two albums on that list.

  7. I am listening to it right now. It does sound great indeed.

Great day for music today with both new Macca and Pearl Jam.

  8. The order is alphabetical, not by rating. Those two albums would be on the bottom of the list if rated. However, those albums aren't that bad.

Yeah, the Drake album is hard to get into. To be honest, I am still not fully into it, but I recognize the tracks. I just play it on the background. Key reason why it's on the list is track 8: 'Hold On, We're Going Home'. I absolutely love that song. The rest is OK.

I found out about Drake after listening to Frank Ocean, another PBR&B artist. If you haven't heard Channel Orange, I highly recommend you give it a listen. Start with 'Pyramids' (has a John Mayer solo), 'Lost' and 'Thinkin' About You'. His 'Nostalgia Ultra' mixtape is okay.

I've heard about Justin Vernon and Bon Iver, but never gave it a listen. I am playing 'For Emma, Forever Ago' right now and love it. Thanks!

  10. Music starts at 0:55.
  11. You guys listen to HAIM?

    If you don't you should.

If you do we should talk about them. They are great.
