    I have had the chance to listen to the album quite a times now and I think this album was made to be played live. Not sure if it is their Achtung, but this tour may be their ZooTV moment musically. Having seen them on the previous two tours & they totally blew me away then, I just think great things are about to happen. I hear Bowie, Flaming Lips, New Order, Depeche Mode and Talking Heads in this album.

    Tickets were difficult enough to get anyway. You would have struggled to get them in an online general sale anyway, Ger. I suppose I could've got one or two for you while I was at the shop.

    You got them on a physical store? When they work properly (aka start selling tickets at the very same moment the general sale starts) I've found it to be a more pleasant way to get "tough" tickets than sitting at home, freaking out in front of the computer.
  3. I do hope its more than festivals next year. It surely has to be? I'm not a big fan of festivals myself so a standalone gig or 2 would be ideal.

    Yep. Apparently getting tickets online was a nightmare. I tried when I was in the queue at the shop and I couldn't even get onto the page where you can search for tickets - there was high demand on the page. That goes for a few of my friends.

    Honestly, going into the store can be a lot better. Might try it more in the future.

    Yeah, specially in not very known stores.
    For example here in Spain, Ticketmaster sells phyisical tickets on the famous FNAC stores, that get big queues and lots of people miss their chance (it happened to me back in 2009, i SLEPT on the street in order to get tickets for the opening 360 night and then missed them on the morning - I was only 46th on the queue), but also small travel stores.
    I've got Bruce Springsteen, Muse, Arctic Monkeys, etc tickets there without any hassle. Barely nobody knows those small stores sell the tickets so they're empty or close to empty. If sale starts at 10:00, you get your tickets on hand by 10:05 without any stress. Definitely my favorite way of buying big selling tix.
  6. On another note, it's being said that the festival that announced AF yesterday will be their only 2014 date in Spain. I don't buy it but it might be, that festival is powerful enough to make AF sign an exclusivity contract (does that term exist? you get it anyway)... Bad news
  7. How could they not want to tour on their own? I'm certain they will but doing only festivals for the summer after an autumn album release is odd. The festival appearances usually come in towards the end of a tour. Even if they do a full tour after the festivals l, that will be almost a year since album release.

    It might look weird, but look at Coldplay's last tour schedule... They did festivals on summer 2011 premiering new songs, then released the album on the same date as AF, then toured European arenas on autumn/winter, then American arenas on spring 2012, European stadiums during May and June and then back to American arenas for the summer, then back to European stadiums in September, then...
    Well, you get it. I think we're too used to strict U2 legs with many concerts on each side of the pond and then many at the other one, but if AFs stage ain't too hard to move around (and it won't be, I think), I think they might do a few dates here, a few then, then a festival, then another few dates more,etc. We'll see.

    I think they realize they are probably in the peak of their careers, with the massive promotion the album has got, with lots of new fans and lots of media attention. I don't think they will waste this chance.

    Confirmed Also, festival tickets are 170 bucks plus trip and accomodation, so it's a total no-no for me. Damnit.
