1. Thinking what a cool poster that would make. Ronnie has to be the coolest member of the Stones by far.

As for Stones tickets...missed out by this much. Which wasn't much.

Oh well. Steel Panther and Nine Inch Nails shall suffice.
  2. NIN with QotSA? I'm seeing both in March
  3. I know next to no QoTSA songs but love NIN - The Fragile and The Slip are incredible.
  4. Well prices are out for the Brisbane show and the rest of the Australian arena tour too, although I haven't checked them.

Prices are outrageous. Nearly enough for me to not go

    Pit is AU$577.70
    Gold is AU$577.70
    Blue is AU$374.20
    Orange is AU$198.20

    Plus booking fee.

There isn't even a rear GA standing like in Adelaide. I can't imagine paying $200 for a restricted side view ticket to the Stones, who might be good and all, but nothing compared to Bruce (I can't see it) whom I can buy a Front Standing GA Pit ticket to for $230 odd. Doesn't add up.

I knew they were going to be expensive but I feel insulted.
  5. What....Adelaide prices were only $75 for GA??

What a fucking joke. Shoved that far back or that much to the side for that price? I paid $200 to see Aerosmith but I got at the very front and was able to see the band the closest you'll ever get and had a great weekend in Melbourne for the exact same cost.

    FUCK THAT.

    As Keef said last year:

I'm a bit out of the loop with showbiz -- I just want to do some shows and I don't want to charge over the bloody top.

Not just out of the loop, out of touch and out of time.

And at the very bottom: 'this is reserved seating but patrons may stand'. For that cost, I'm gonna be asking for unlimited beer and more than reserving my right to stand. Insult, you're not bloody wrong.

There IS a Lucky Dip thing going - that probably means you get put wherever the promoter / venue deems a good spot for that price. Couldn't be any worse than paying $198 to see them minimum. But yeah Bruce gives you a near-three hour if not more show for less.

I can't think of any show I've paid $200 for that I didn't get at the front.
  6. Yep Adelaide GA were only $75, on the back of the oval. Best value tickets of the leg. I guess they can do that when they are playing a stadium that will hold 40,000 odd. Brisbane Entertainment Centre is about 14,000. Regardless, the prices are insane. Absolutely insane. The whole floor is $580 for a seat there. I just can't see how they can justify it.

I'm with you on paying $200 for a concert and being at the front. Never not been up the front for that much. I saw the Kings of Leon in a small theatre in Sydney a couple weeks, back, ticket was $100 and my total for the trip and accomodation/spending money was about $300. I can do a lot with $580.

Really disappointing. Prices could be much lower if they were doing two nights, but I guess they have their appearance fees that Gudinski has to pay, and two nights worth of fees for the Stones all around Australia would probably eat into profit margins big time I guess.

Presale in 90 mins, I'm going for lucky dip (but not sure it is available during presale) or just the cheap (still as expensive as fuck) tickets.

    Edit:

In Adelaide you could get hospitality packages for less/around the $580 mark:

    Indoor Centre $389.00pp incl. GST
    Inclusions:
 Reserved concert seat on field
     Cocktail menu
     Standard 2.5 hour beverage package (6.00pm to 8.30pm)
     Commemorative lanyard
    2
    One $499.00pp incl. GST
    Inclusions:
 Reserved concert seat within the function room
     Cocktail canapés served
 Beverages served throughout (until last song)
     Program 1 between 2
     Commemorative lanyard
William Magarey Room $779.00pp incl. GST
    Inclusions:
 Platinum on field reserved concert seat
 3 course sit down dinner
 Standard 2.5 hour beverage package
     1 x program each
     Commemorative lanyard
  7. Obviously you guys haven't seen the pricing for the hanging rock show then! $1275 for the front A section, $875 for the B section, both sections only available as part of a vip package.
  8. My god. That's insulting.
  9. Cant even get on line or on the phone for their tickets for WA at the moment.

I don't even have words for that. Well I do, but not sure they'd be acceptable. I didn't see why they couldn't do two night in each city - really, it's their first time in what, 15-20 years in some states, and all they can do is one show? Ridiculous...must be a Gudinski tour!!!

They can justify it (unjustifiably) 'cos 'we're legends and all'. I went to the Robert Plant show earlier this year. Is he not a 'legend'?

$580 is a lot of money, I spent just over that in Sydney for four days including food. Of course accomodation cost me $100 or so - but I got to see three bands and spend four days interstate. Good luck getting a ticket, let us know how you got on.

  11. I was logged in with plenty of time to go as the clock ticked over to 'on-sale'. Pressed the 'purchase button 2 seconds after it started and... 'Allocation exhausted!'

So now it's into the general mix for next week!
  12. I can't even understand WHY THE FUCK are people buying that ridiculously-priced tickets. They should play to half empty (or empty) venues so they understand they can't be such morons. My God.
