1. One Tree Hill
    Discotheque
    Mofo
    WGRYWH
    Last Night on Earth
    Wire
Exit (Unlikely when the reasons they stopped playing it are considered)
    Surrender
    Gloria
    BTBS

    Dirty Day
    Discotheque
    Last Night on Earth
    Kite
Sometimes You Can't Make it on Your Own

All of these except for the last two and I completely agree

Not that I don't like the other two, but I'd rather give those other songs the spots where they might fit.

Have they ever made some sort of statement that they've chosen to not play it anymore because of what happened to the My Sister Sam actress, Rebecca Schaeffer?
  4. I don't care what they play on the next tour but I would like a setlist shakeup each night. Sucks seeing the band in concert multiple nights in the same city and only getting 2 to 4 different songs.

They've stated they didn't feel comfortable playing it at all and they stopped playing it altogether, but I don't think anyone can officialy "forbid" a song being played. They could come back to it if they wished.
  6. I don't know if "Exit" really suits them anymore.

It's probably the darkest song in their entire catalog and I don't really see them as being that kind of band anymore. There's generally a positive/hopeful energy to today's U2 shows and this song represents the complete opposite of that.
  7. ^ this.

Musically I'd love to see it, as a lot of other forgotten songs, but they don't suit U2 anymore.
  8. Enter to Theme from Let's Go Native!

If court can forbid to play a song because of plagiarism, why wouldn't it be possible to forbid a song that (unintentionally) lead to a dead person ? Court could also judge the song evokes evil things.
Everything is possible in court, believe me.

Anyway, it's a shame, I still remember how I was blown away by that song when I watched the Rattle And Hum dvd.

But I get the point about it not fitting in with the band's current emotions on stage.
  10. ^ I'm sure you can play anything in concert you want, but it can't have had an official release (case in point: Send In The Clowns).

Exit would be killer to hear - but it's just too dark. Then again, they played 'Electric Co.' on the Vertigo tour, which was about a pretty controversial subject I think.

As for Corpse...don't just stop at one. Play EVERYTHING from Passengers.
  11. Not sure how you could release a song on a studio album that sells 20m+ copies and not play it because it's too dark.

I understand the whole song inspired a killer we don't want to play it anymore, but if a song is released on an album and it doesn't inspire a killer or have a backstory like that as to why they don't play it, there should be no reason for them not to regardless of content.
  12. If they could play Moment of Surrender (which I'm sure is something to do with drugs or harm) then Exit is no less worthy of playing.

Why can't a rock show be dark? Leave the bright pop music to others.

As for what I said, the audience who goes there to hear songs like Beautiful Day, Elevation, Vertigo etc etc could do with a kick in the arse with something like Exit. Sure, half of them might not care for it - but then again like Paul McGuinness said in that statement 'U2 have never subscribed to the rock and roll code of conduct'.

If they haven't 'subscribed to....that code of conduct', then what's to stop them. They played Mothers Of The Disappeared!!! Now if that's not a 'dark' track and subject matter...I'll be damned.
