uh uh very welcome on here Matt!!
my quick add to that list making it 15
    Lost in the Flood
    Incident on 57th Street
    Jackson Cage
    Growin Up
    Spirit in the Night

but many so many are left
    New York City Serenade
    Something in the Night
    Point Blank
    Prove it all Night
    Cadillac Ranch
    Two Hearts
    The Promised Land
    For You
    Tenth Avenue
    ...
i better stop or i won't ever stop hehehe

ps: there's no ranking in the list above
ppss: my advice would be the easiest one .. Born to Run and Darkness .. and then the rest
  4. Can I just add "The Promise", "Because the Night" ,"Frankie" ...
  5. Well, I just got a hold of "The Essential" collection and plan to focus on CD1 for a while...I can appreciated that fans of Bruce probably feel other....er, essential songs are missing. I know I feel that way with "my" bands. However, it's a clean starting point but I will definitely look in to the complete Born to Run and Darkness albums in the future.
  6. As a concertfan of Springsteen my advice:
    just listen to the albumshows:

    MSG, The River 11/08/09
    MSG, The Wild...(11/07/09)
    Giants, 10/02/09, Darkness
    Giants, 10/09/09, Born in the
    Cleveland, BTR, 11/10/09

    And also:
    LA: 10/23/1999
    MSG 2000 concerts
    Darkness tour radio recordings 1978
    Mainpoint 02-05-1975

    Wrecking Ball:
    Paris 07-05-2012
    London: 07-04-2012
  7. You're going a little further than Matt wants I think Let him dig into two or three albums and the rest will come
  8. Again, I sincerely appreciate all of your advise and am taking it into consideration. I know when some one asks me, "What are a dozen or so essential Pearl Jam songs that would get me into the band?" I find it virtually impossible to answer.

I had no idea The Boss wrote "Blinded By The Light!"
