1. Wow...I never realized that so many of you that I know from other threads were such big Bruce Springsteen fans!
  2. Seriously, with the awesome live versions there are with The Ghost Of Tom Joad electric with Tom Morello, I didn't think I'd be so struck by the High Hopes recording, but I am. It is incredible.

It's because of ade. If it weren't for him, this thread wouldn't have a 1/4 as many posts.
  4. I love ade

I agree. This and the Morello solo on American Skin (41 Shots) just brings these songs to another level. The album has not received the best reviews so far but official versions of these songs alone make it a great album for me.
  6. 41 shots is a classic. Joad isn't as good as what I expected. Morello's solo doesn't translate onto the studio album particularly well at all. The mix is also considerably different to the live mix. Having seen it four times with Morello I have to say it wasn't as good as I expected. Down in the Hole and the Wall are seriously great pieces. Still not sure on Harry's Place. Just Like Fire Would is fun.
  7. i agree 110% with dylbagz. 41, Down In the Hole and The Wall are among the best songs of the new album. Ghost sounds like it was made on an Ipad, doesn't work at all.

Just Like Fire Would reminds me so much of another song, but i can't seem to point the finger on which one.

anyone who hear the same similarity? (i don't mean another Springsteen-song, but i've heard that same melody somewhere else)

the first time i heard Harry's Place on my PC, i thought you tube accidentally had started some lousy 80's pop song. horrible horrible sound on this one.
  8. Just Like Fire Would is a cover of The Saints.
Down In The Hole sounds like Springsteens classic "I´m on Fire".

Overall its a good album with somw great surpises

yeah i know it's a cover by The Saints, but it still reminds me of another song, apart from The Saints' song.

There's quite a bit of Mellencamp influence on this one. Just Like Fire Would sounds very similar to Mellencamp's Small Town and there are Pink Houses influences in another track too
