1. Polish Radio "Trójka" reported - new U2 record in April 2014 !!!!
  2. I know it´s only rumours and probably no more than that, but it makes a lot of sense to me! After going very very big, let´s go very very intimate and small... It makes me really look forward to next tour! Who knows, we might have a true fans tour? At least I can dream )
  3. "Trójka" - the best radio station in Poland. Her friends are for example. Depeche Mode, Peter Gabriel, Deep Purple, Fish, David Gilmour, Marillion, Archive, Moby, Robert Palmer and many other great musicians - I know it's only rumours but
in every rumor there is a bit of truth :-)

We won't witness a "true fans only" tour ever, U2 has an excessive amount of casual fans (which are the ones that actually fill up stadiums and arenas all around the world).

At least some "true fans setlists" would be great...
  6. The issue with smaller shows is that the ticket prices will end up being sky high. I am also quite certain plenty of casual fans will still attend - especially the ones with deeper pockets. As a result, "true fans" that aren't as wealthy won't get to see a show at all.

The band may be too big for our own good.
  7. ^ I wanted to explain that in my prev. post but gave up - you did it far better than I could. Spot on.
  8. U2 just can NOT play anything smaller than 10.000 people venues (in regular tours, excluding promo or one-off shows) anymore, even if we fans wished they did.

MAYBE if they did an extremely non-commercial album with very little promo... Maybe then we could see a tour in amphitheatres or small venues. But then again, those ticket prices would be insane due to scalpers - let alone if some kind of "farewell tour" was in sight.
  9. They could try and do what the Rolling Stones did on the Licks 2002/2003 tour. You have a city, for LA for example, and you play 1 stadium show (Dodger Stadium, 1/2 shows at the Staples Center, and 2 shows at a small venue like the Wiltern Theatre. Each with vastly different setlists. It would be LEGENDARY. Stadium shows have primarily the hits, arenas focus on a certain album in the middle, and the club shows are for U2.com members with rare tracks. (Not kidding the Rolling Stones did this hence why I never take the accusations of them only playing the hits seriously)
  10. Wow, I didn't know that. What an awesome concept Imagine that for U2, holy shit.
  11. Rolling Stones have done that a lot, not even during that tour. For example, one tour they played Amsterdam Arena, then Ahoy, and then Paradiso the following the night. Decent concept.
