Yep, I think that sums it up pretty well. Looking at the direction they took since Pop I don't need another album. I'd be more than happy if they only dusted out their live archives.

I hear ya there. A few offically recorded LoveTown gigs please. I'll be gutted if they did leave it. I need to see them live first. Then they can do what they want.

Well, I'm quoting this post, but my reply seems better suited at Yeah.

I don't see them leaving it. They've still got the hunger as far as I can tell. Some of my favourite songs have come off the last 2 albums (COBL, Kite, Elevation, SYCMIOYO, Vertigo).

Let's see what this new direction goes in before any final judgements are made. I'm not sure we can tell much from an isolated impromptu gig with only half the band and Bono reading the words off a stand. Other than his voice sounds better than it has done for ages.

No way are they anywhere near finishing. '3 crap albums and you're out' Bono always says. On a commercial basis and to those of us who are less critical of the band, the last 2 albums have been nowhere near crap. ATYCLB was a dip in my opinion but there ain't much wrong with Bomb.

Definitely. For the general public those last two have been the most accessible and therefore 'best' since Joshua Tree. They even outsold Achtung.

I really like the Bomb and apart from the tracks I mentioned never listen to ATYCLB anymore. (In a Little While occasionally).
A little bit of experimentation to freshen it up but keep on the same general railroad and I'll be more than happy. You'll get to see them live, no doubt.
  6. I haven't listened to ATYCLB right through in over 3 years. Only Peace On Earth and When I Look At The World don't get skipped when i'm in shuffle mode.

Probably because you haven't heard them played to death on every TV, radio, advert, film trailer etc ad nauseum for the last 7 years..

PS We're way off topic here.

    So...

    ummm..

..anyone found Angel of Harlem yet

It's just because they are the only 2 songs on the album that I like. The rest are only decent live. Angel Of Harlem will surface
