1. Yeah, me too. I hope it's more similar to the Crazy Tonight remix they played live

ordinary love - this .. hopes are fading away

  3. I'm ok for now. Ordinary Love can easily be considered as a single entity due to its placing. Invisible, at least in this incarnation has clearly been intended to be as commercially viable as possible for the Red promotion and hopefully some general buzz creation. The album could still be in a completely different direction.

As Bono said, it's about being in a place where you see yourself as lower than others and "invisible", trying to prove yourself but you can't, far away from home, broke, all those feelings, that's the background. Then the song starts with a "revelation", the room clears of smoke and he feels like he doesn't care at all what they think..
For me, being in kind of a similar situation, moved to London, left home, trying to prove myself here, I really feel a connection with it.

It is some of his best lyrics in the last decade. It has a clear positive message and delivers it with powerful words.

    +1

    great lyrics!

Feel of the day: good song, fresh, but just a bit overproduced.
It would be much better if it was left more raw, less polished (and as I said, with a more serious and stylish video)

    But great, great lyrics indeed.

  5. I'm willing to be optimistic. I like Invisible a lot. I just don't want a whole album of it.
  6. I think there's a really strong chance the next album will have this kind of feel. Listen to Broken Bells, cross that with classic U2 and some of the influences they said they had when making the album, and this is the kind of stuff you get. I honestly can't wait, I love the song and the sonic territory it resides in, and hope the rest of the album also resides there. Obviously not in the same feel, but in the same tone, if that makes sense. Like how not all the songs on JT are the same, but they all come from the same place. Same for AB.
  7. After a day, I think the song certainly helps U2 to get attention and airplay again. In Holland, Ordinary Love was and still is quite a success and this single helps to keep U2 in the top of minds.

I like the song, a whole lot better than GOYB ever was. But I just hate the drum-machine. Skip it, just record Larry hitting it live instead of sampling it all. And I would love a bit more of Edge.

Still think the regular version will run 4.50-5.00 minutes with a longer intro, outro and extended solo.

Kudos for the boys, as the song keeps reminding me of the first three albums.

Just to be clear, after watching that making of video I have a sneaking suspicion that main melodic line in the beginning, after the chorus and in the "there is no them" is actually a guitar tone. I wouldn't be surprised and I'd be ecstatic if it was, it'd be Edge returning to doing awesome stuff with the guitar.

I also love his rhythm track, quick delay and trebley notes? Played on the explorer? Sounds like the early days U2 to me, and it's awesome.
  9. Interesting piece from HotPress about the song and some more: http://www.hotpress.com/news/10992254.html. Bono would love to play indoors again.

While confirming that “most of” the new record has Danger Mouse at the production helm – “There are some very different moods, and some extraordinary guitar stuff out of Edge” – he reveals that they “might experiment with some new people” before declaring it fully finished. - See more at: http://www.hotpress.com/news/10992254.html#sthash.wjWfvndu.dpuf
  10. I feel that there is a great song somewhere in there I just can't help to feel like this a bono and edge song and not a U2 song. I don't mind the synths but some live bass and drums would of added allot IMO.
