1. I just read it costs 4million for a 30sec ad... That makes 8million for U2's clip. Same amount Bank of America promised. Will (RED) see a penny from Bank of America ? I know they "promised", but you know banks and their promises...

Btw, did they secretly kicked out Larry ? These are 2 songs in a row with more drummachines than real drums...
  2. Belgian newspaper reports Bank of America will donate to the Red Cross We're so stupid...
  3. Guardian rarely give good reviews these days, so that didn't really surprise me.

Yeah. What's happening with the drums.

Although it does sound like if you listen there's what sounds like real drums underneath the manipulated ones.

they will do another "song" to raise funds to buy a drums kit

  6. Lmfao!! I play drums.... I always look forward to playing new songs from my favorite bands. So far... I have nothing to play from U2.
  7. Very happy with this:

    * radio friendly tune to get the band back in the spotlight
    * some classic U2 sound in there
    * having enough new elements in it too to suggest a fresh approach on the album
    * has the making of a real live favourite

Very positive indeed - ticking the boxes...

People were asking the same question during the making of Achtung baby. Even Larry was pissed. But oh well, it's their best album.
  9. Will we ever see a video with the full song, or do we have to do it with just this commercial?
  10. -Really hope U2 uses that screen from the video. It's got a Nine Inch Nails-style effect to it where the motion sensors adapt the lighting to the location of the band members. Makes for a really cool stage effect, at least it did for NIN.

-Bono's haircut is awesome. As is Adam's new style.

-Invisible is an awesome song. The lyrics could be a little improved - "I finally found my real name / I won't be me when you see me again" sounds like a first-draft of what could have been a really unique line, but it's pretty plain. The chorus is amazing, and their biggest since COBL or anything off ATYCLB.

-This is a more fun / big song than anything off of No Line. MOS might be a "better" song, but I enjoy this one more. I rarely listen to a full 7min MOS. The most fun song off of NLOTH for me was the title track, and this is right up there with it.

-Personally, I think this is their best song since 2004. It's going to get people excited for U2 again. Not like the NLOTH "buzz".
