did any of us ever really believe that stuff?
  5. Nah, but it was well worth a laugh. A new album a year later in this U2 era, sure.
  6. I think most of the fanbase actually believed (at least during early-mid 2009) that Songs Of Ascent would be released. I remember most of us did, with a certain degree of eyebrow raising and some doubts, but we did.
  7. When a band has been away for so long prior to an album being released, of course many people are going to think that the band would follow it up with another album within a year or so.

I'm sure if NLOTH was a huge success like HTDAAB they probably would have

  9. I think it had more to do with the fact that they thought they were 30 years old again and they could do another Zooropa while touring for Achtung Baby (a.k.a. record Songs Of Ascent while touring for NLOTH)... But they're not 30 anymore. And their inspiration wells are -we want it or not- drying up a bit, which is understandable.
  10. Too bad I missed this talk during Edge's interview, but it was still quite fun reading your rants
  11. Not only The Edge is on fire... but Adam is on a tidal wave too.
