They get 98% of their shit right so what's the harm in admitting an occasionaly cock-up every now and then.

The forum guys are so fucking superior as well. They sneer at you if you dare to ask a question and aren't part of their gang. Hate that.

Whack it on the back with your palm and see if it starts up.

According to iLounge, it doesn't include an option to get rid of the split-screen menu. It goes something a bit like this:

Alongside the release of iPod software version 1.2.3 for the fifth-generation iPod, Apple today rolled out iPod software version 1.0.3 for the iPod classic and iPod nano (with video).

Again, the release notes state that the update simply contains “bug fixes.” More specifically, it appears the update fixes an issue with the iPod nano’s clock, and addresses a problem where play counts of songs were affected by games. On the iPod classic, the update appears to fix some issues with Cover Flow, and provides a solution for the “spinning disk” problem. iPod software version 1.0.3 for the iPod classic and iPod nano (with video) is available now via the Update feature in iTunes.
    .

I don't give a toss about a spinning disk (which is how the platters and heads on the hard drives actually work) - unlike the Apple fans over at the official forums defend and say Macs are different - no! Apple laptops and PCs use Intel motherboards, Intel processors and Toshiba 5200/7200rpm hard drives.

    Never saw this post yesterday.
As far as I'm aware it comes with its own little dock which then connects via the standard USB cable. Looks pretty funky from what I've seen:-
