1. This thread is really boring the tits off me. It seems to going round in circles. I've lost count how many times it has rotated.
  2. Yip and its still full of folk talking pish.
  3. Let's have some fun about it instead.

  4. knock knock....
  5. Bono's house, sunday night, 8.50pm the telephone rings. Bono answers:

    "hello"
    "hello, is that Bono?"
"er, yes, yes it is" (thinks this bloke sounds familiar)
"hello, my name's mr macphisto, do you remember me"
    "er, maybe"
"i'm here with a few friends, they're very disappointed. They ordered 25,000 cd's but they haven't been delivered"
"i'm sorry i've got things to do, the world won't run itself"
"you made me very rich, very famous and very powerful mr bono would you like me to buy you a clue"
    line goes dead

    "sometimes i feel like....."

  6. Sure they're different people. But isn't their (common) goal to make great music?

If you think it'll help to keep talking about irrelevance etc., then be my guest. Bono speaks as if the next record can only be the next JT or AB. While I certainly appreciate U2's constant desire to always do better, I cannot help thinking that they're making their life harder. And what if it isn't a JT or an AB after 5 + n years? It's true we know very little about what's going on. But it certainly looks like very big songs aren't exactly flowing. As someone pointed out, if they had the song, we'd have already seen an album. And yes, we are turning round in circles...

Well that's the kicker isn't it? I'm sure U2 aren't going to compare their next album to the ones the fans deem the best, but I think they always strive to make the best album they've ever made and maybe this time it's just taking them more time, or maybe the songs aren't flowing.

The point is criticizing them for it doesn't really get you anywhere other than just being pissed off at them. Ignore U2 for a little while, go listen to other music and when the album or single drops, enjoy it.

Is Brian Eno not involved with U2 these days producing ?

I'm not sure if he is still with them, at least on this album. The whole Rick Rubin to Eno and back to Rubin seems to be going on. I just wonder if the slow release of the album is just a stall tactic with Live Nation. They signed that huge deal with them 6 years ago where basically Live Nation owns much of what U2 does (promotion, merch, etc) until 2020 and they may be unhappy with how it has turned out. Maybe a bit similar to when Springsteen was trying to get away from Appel
  9. Khm...

    http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1723708/coldplay-ghost-stories-paul-epworth.jhtml

In a new Q&A with fans, the band revealed that they worked with producer Paul Epworth on the album, who has spent the past decade behind the boards on efforts like Adele's 21 and Florence and the Machine's Lungs.

Calling the album "a collaborative effort," Coldplay went on to say that frequent partners Jon Hopkins, Rik Simpson and Dan Green were also involved in Ghost Stories, but added that bassist Guy Berryman "did a lot of the production this time 'round."
