    Umm, I'd imagine they protect it quite well.

    How do you do the extraction anyway (off YouTube etc..)?

    flv to mp3 converter. Google that. I use firefx and have a little download helper icon that I just click and that will download the video file. Then Ijust convert it to mp3 using some free software. The U2.com files are swf files though and as of yet, I can find no free software that will let me convert it.

    Ahh. I have Keep It for the video download bit; I'll find some software I'm sure. Can't think that any of my converters will do 'swf' either. Not heard of that before.

    There seems to be one and only one and I sureas hell aren't paying for it just for one song. I can use the trial vrsion but it will only give 50% of the mp3 and what use is that?

    You could use an mp3 recorder software and record the sound while it's being played...

    No need to cough - it's live stuff, not official.

    Gerard's trying to rip the audio from the WoS vid but it seems it's proving tricky. Is Drew still on, he might know a way.

    We do need a subscriber for Desire though.

    don't think that offers great results. I have to nip out and collect the wee brother from school here. If you could get me a link to the software you just mentioned then i'll give it a go when I get back.

    I didn't mean any particular software, the result is usually the same (I always randomly download one when needed!)... just googled it, here are some good results: http://www.mp3-recorder.net/

    I don't think the result will be much different to the flv to mp3 thing. I've always used this system to record from youtube vids and it's fine.
