1. we should revamp this topic. what if we called it the album of the week and similar to the member of the month, every week a new person is chosen to suggest a great album for everyone to check out. we could hear a lot of great new music this way thoughts?
  2. I think the idea has merit, perhaps not as a reinvention of this topic, but as a new topic itself. We've had numerous round table topics on the forums before and they all start off with promise but eventually fade out. I would be interested in taking part in something like this. My only issue is the acquisition of albums. People are going to suggest stuff we don't have, at least I'd hope so or else there's no discovery. Obviously we don't expect members to buy every album that is suggested, nor would we be allow members to share illegal copies as per the house rules. Of course, most people would use their initiative and find the album somewhere, maybe Spotify, maybe not, so there would be decent participation per round I think. Another sticking point is the year of release for the album selected. We have the 'Music in 2014' topic open already for members to suggest new music or post interesting news. Sticking to pre-2014 albums would be better.

Just my thoughts, we'll see if anyone else pipes up.
  3. I think Spotify would make that possible, unless its not available in some countries.
  4. I need to listen to more albums I haven't heard before, so I definitely like the idea. I'd be listening on Spotify.
  5. agree with the idea, i'd definitely be down.

    today's selection, fyi:

Agree, I'd be down too! What's not on Spotify is on Youtube or Deezer anyway, so... Great idea
  7. A forum I frequent apart from U2Start does an "Album of the Week" thread, so I would be happy to lend some of their techniques etc. to U2start and help facilitate that thread.

Sounds good. Just don't go AWOL like you did with the awards
  9. Yeah that was just unfortunately during a difficult time in life where I had to put the internet on the back-burner. Apologies for that once again, but life beckons.

    You're saying there's actually something outside U2start?
  11. Only when they're off-tour
