1. Rattle And Hum (the movie), THE reason I am a U2 fan, is GONE.

And I mean, COMPLETELY out of circulation / out of print...

    iTunes Music Store: Disappeared mysteriously.

Amazon DVD: Unavailable (cannot buy a brand new copy):
    http://www.amazon.com/U2-Rattle-Hum-Bono/dp/B000022TT6/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1407629869&sr=8-2&keywords=u2+rattle+and+hum

    BN.com (Barnes & Noble): Unavailable.

    Netflix: Unavailable.
    Hulu Plus: Unavailable.
    Amazon Instant: Unavailable.

    KEY TAKEAWAYS:
    1) Go buy it on eBay NOW if you want it / need a spare copy.
    2) It's available right now IN FULL on YouTube, WITHOUT PAL speedup (aka "in the right pitch") here, but will probably get taken down again soon:

Rattle & Hum movie on YouTube

[EDIT] I successfully fixed the link so that you get the full YouTube playlist.

    3) For the love of God, WHY?!?!?!?!?

We're past the 25th anniversary and nowhere near a milestone worthy of a re-release, so this worries me greatly.

U2 needs to embrace R&H for what it was - a live snapshot of U2 during the hardest-rocking, and arguably most accessible, era of their career - and stop trying to forget it happened or conceding to the U2 haters that it was some sort of mistake.

Any takers as to what's going on here?
  2. LOL! Sending out some ❤❤❤❤ to you.
  3. As a Pop fanatic, and a "Hattle And Rum" fanatic, I feel the pain. I'd love a remastered Super Duper Deluxe Box Set for it...among the things I'd love:

    1 All the outtakes
2 A version of the studio tracks on cds that do not have the stupid overlap...like Van Dieman's Land without the track overbleed.
3 Audio of the great version of Angel of Harlem without all the stupid talking.
I could go on forever, but I won't.

U2 could easily argue that there are tons of brand new copies in bargain bins, but a real Blu-Ray of the movie, with all the deleted scenes....it could be their most complete box set ever...but they hate it...almost as much as they hate Pop. What I would give for a R&H box set, and a Pop box set including the scrapped original album

  4. Ha, I actually have quite an affinity for:

Edge: "If I had feet like that, Lawrence, I wouldn't want them in the film."
Larry: "If I had a head like that, I'd bleedin' bury it."

They could just as easily include the banter as a 1-minute "Angel of Harlem - false start" track.

Fair point, although I consider "not available as 'Brand New' in any major retailers" to be pretty handily "out of circulation."
  5. Still seems reasonably easy to obtain a physical copy here in the UK, but I suppose that can change at any time... As for the streaming services: they have content on a rotation anyway, and use algorithms and community feedback to figure out what's most popular. Perhaps it just wasn't that popular? Either way I think it's perhaps too early to call conspiracy. If retailers here run out of stock completely with no sign of return, I might change my opinion.

    Still got my Blu-Ray copy.
  6. All these outtakes on youtube, someone posted loads a while ago.
  7. I should get my hands on a Blu Ray copy - it would be great to watch in 5.1 surround sound.

It is available as brand new...not directly from Amazon, but by over 30 different private sellers..and some may have boxes of them that they picked up in a deal. I picked up 1,000 live Sting albums for $30 from some guy who just wanted to get rid of them. Since R&H is not a money maker, those with tons of copies are stuck with them. Amazon will only sell products making a reasonable level of profit. Since the new price is under $5, it makes no sense for them to sell it.
  9. I have a sealed VHS copy if you are desperate?
  10. really sad ...i m a big R&H fan
  11. I find the post really amusing and funny. Any trip to a store that sells dvd usually finds it in the bargain bin for 4.99 or so...but it is not a huge seller even for bargain bins, so buying it online is the easiest way: It's funny how the original poster hasn't responded to the obvious fact that you can buy this brand new and really cheap. So if anybody gets scared and starts buying these up...you're wasting your time. I still think they might get around to a re-release.

    3.97 at Barnes And Noble:

Also 20 different Amazon sellers have it brand new for as low as $3.69 :

Or you can overpay Wal Mart for a $13.52 copy:

  12. Well, if we get a new video format, we'll get another release of Rattle and Hum.
