1. Nice to see SOI in the top half of most lists above!

  2. because it is new ...i m sure that with time it will be lower
  3. no it won't .......
  4. Or higher!

  5. It might, but let's see. It's true that we were also quite enthusiastic of NLOTH back then. (And for good cause: it is (also) a really good album, with some really fantastic songs.)
  6. 1. Achtung Baby
    2. The Joshua Tree
    3. Pop
    4. Songs Of Innocence

    Actually, if I recall people were ripping on NLOTH the moment we got Boots as a lead single...

We all give our favourite song, album, bootleg etc. But if you had to rank all the studio albums, best to worst, how would your list go? You may have favourite songs on each album but as an overall piece things may change (eg Kite's one of my 10 favourite songs, but the album doesn't do well on my list).

    My criteria were to use the 'star' setting in iTunes (ranked out of 5) for each song to then get the average for each album. My list ended up like this:-

    1. Achtung Baby (4.33)
    2. Joshua Tree (4.09)
    3. HTDAAB (4)
    4. Pop (3.75)
    5. Boy (3.72)
    6. The Unforgettable Fire (3.7)
    7. War (3.6)
    8. Zooropa (3.4)
    9. Rattle & Hum (3.29)
    10. ATYCLB (3.25)
    11. October (2.8)

    Wow, 7 years ago.....

    Currently (and remembering I'm still in the hype), it would be:

    1. AB
    2. JT
    3. SOI
    4. Pop
    5= Zooropa
    5= Boy
    5= TUF
    8. NLOTH
    9= ATYCLB
    9= HTDAAB
    11. R&H
    12. War
    13. October

    I don't skip anything on the top 3 albums. I skip Miami on Pop and DCPFYCC on Zooropa. I skip occasionally on Boy and TUF but can also listen all the way through. I fluctuate with NLOTH and will sometimes skip a few then sometimes listen to all of it. The main 2000's albums are hit-heavy but not coherent albums at all and I will often skip 3-4 tracks if I listen to them as albums at all.
    R&H, War & October I virtually never listen to and only the main tracks if I do.

    I'm intrigued to see where SOI ends up as I seem to remember making some outlandish statement like the first 3 tracks on NLOTH are the equal to JT/AB
  9. 1. Achtung Baby
    2. The Joshua Tree
    3. How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb
    4. Rattle And Hum
    5. Zooropa
    6. Pop
    7. All That You Can't Leave Behind
    8. War
    9. Boy
    10. No Line On The Horizon
    11. The Unforgettable Fire
    12. Songs Of Innocence
    13. October
