I have thought about what made me rank War and TUF so higher from the top of my head, when they actually don't have the best ratings when analyzed song by song (and the opposite goes for Rattle And Hum)... That's just the ALBUM FEELING. When an album is better and bigger than the sum of its parts (TUF is a perfect example), we tend to rank it higher than other albums that might have a bigger share of awesome songs (R&H or NLOTH) but don't have the same cohesion and album feeling.

I've been looking at this topic recently to see where SOI would fit in, but it doesn't feel right without adjusting the ratings for the whole collection. I'll do it again without looking at my previous ratings and then compare (always interesting). Might need to listen to some albums though, it's been a while

I've revisited them all, song per song... Many of them have the same ratings but a lot have changed too. Not much, but for example Joshua has gained a 0'2 (which is a lot) and the Bomb has lost a 0'15.

Tim: very brave of you to give 7 to Zoo Station, UTEOTW and Tryin' To Throw Your Arms. I'm with you. The live versions can be amazing, but on studio they just can't reach those highs.

Finally getting round to this after being pointed here by Sergio as I'm doing it I realise one or two things might differ from my opinions on threads similar i.e. the order of favoured songs might actually be different and the overall scores could be slightly out with what I've previously done but my u2 opinion does change and tweak slightly all the time. The engines of the Ferrari's have to work hard these days. But at least they finished the races, which we cannot say about the Renault thing from Max Verstappen.

Back to the topic, it takes some time to create this list, but the results can be interesting.
