1. Reminds me a little of Climbing up the Walls (Radiohead). In a good way.

Yep - favourite vocals on the album. To me it sounds like the old Zooropa/Pop era cool version of Bono just taking things in his stride and doing what comes naturally rather than the current, try far too hard and over-do everything cringeworthy Bono.

This second, irritating version of Bono does briefly creep into the song though during the falsetto part which seems totally unnecessary...

This song is still by far the only thing on the album that I love (although Cedarwood Rd has grown on me considerably) I find it popping into my head all the time and I can't stop listening to it. The closest they have come to 90's era U2 vibe since the 90's era in my opinion.
  3. One of my fav new songs.

Indeed. Nothing wrong with a little bit of imperfection. Makes him/them more human (again).

We always used to complain about how polished U2-songs were. They needed to be little bit more "raw" and powerful. And now Bono sings something with emotion but not that perfect, you complain again
Sorry Sergio, but reading the comments, you're alone on this one.
  5. I just feel like if Bono wanted to do a perfect falsetto he could have done one, the "awkward" and "uncomfortable" falsetto is there for a reason. It adds to the eerie vibe this song has going which I can dig.

I don't care for being alone I'm not complaining - it's just that his unsteady vocals (and I repeat, NOT JUST the falsetto) drag me away from this -otherwise fantastic- song. Another vocal take with steadier intonations all throughout would satisfy me and this song would become one of my favs for sure.

I understand your opinion. Personally I think a song about some pedophile priests just shouldn't be perfect.
  8. This is a really haunting song.
Reminds me of Love is Blindness and Zooropa.

  9. Interesting thought, but it doesn't change my opinion on this I agree with your last post, it's a haunting song.
  10. We agree to disagree, no problem
