1. I love that this is indeed the cover. I'll surely order the deluxe edition ASAP, I'm dying to hear Every Breaking Wave acoustic and alternative Troubles

    +1000000

Thom Yorke and Radiohead's methods for releasing anything from 2007 is miles better than anything U2 have or could do.
  3. What, pay whatever you want? That basically gives no value to the music at all. U2 was paid for their album and the whole point of this campaign was to A) Get U2's album out to as many people as possible for free and B) Show that by still getting paid for it music has monetary value. They've said they have no interest in free music and that they believe it has too much value to do that. Radiohead apparently don't believe that.

    Radiohead are overrated anyway

+1 to the first part; possibly +1 to the latter too

Paying what you want is not the way to go. Cheaper is the way to go.
  5. Wow, the alternative Sleep Like A Baby Tonight will be + 10 min long! I just hope is not one of those dance remixes that you get tired after 2 or 3 minutes.

Invisible as a hidden track? Could explain why its 10 minutes long
  7. Maybe.

It isn't pay what you want, it's a flat $6 dollars for the album. It's on BitTorrent which means that the artist doesn't have to pay a fee for bandwith and use and BitTorrent don't get a cut in sales. The album has been downloaded about 100,000 times in 8 hours, 100,000 x 6 is 600,000 in Thom's pocket. This model is good because the artist essentially gets "all the money" for their work. Basically Bandcamp without Bandcamp taking their cut. And it's not intrusive or annoying to people who don't care about them
  9. Radiohead's release is the method that ensures that Radiohead gets the most money. The fact it's on BitTorrent means it's by default going to get much less exposure. Basically, Radiohead took the method that gives themselves the most profit with the least risk. Ironically, releasing their album via BitTorrent means that people using University internet connections will not be able to access the album. Almost all Universities have policies against the use of torrents and will automatically shut down access if torrent software is detected. As I've said before, college students are the largest demographic in the music industry, so their method of release is a bit counterproductive.

Plus, Radiohead hasn't been musically relevant since No Surprises was featured on the 6th season premiere of House MD, so it's not like they've got the material to back up a large scale release anyways.
  10. So will this deluxe edition be available for download on itunes or just physical format? I'm sure alternative versions are fine and all but I'm more interested in the two songs we've yet to hear in any form. I can't help but wonder that if there is in fact an itunes download that "Lucifer's Hands" and "The Crystal Ballroom" will be "album only" downloads and I'll be forced to buy the whole thing, anyway.

Most students could easily find a way to torrent it at a coffee shop or another non-University library to be honest. And are you kidding about Radiohead being irrelevant? Lotus Flower was one of the greatest tracks in the last 10 years and it's only been 7 years since In Rainbows. I don't know anyone who doesn't love Radiohead lol.
