1. But getting back on track, I'm really curious as to what Lucifer's Hands and The Crystal Ballroom will sound like. Title wise they sound like they'd be eerie and slow-burn like Baby Tonight which gets me excited!

Lotus Flower was one of the greatest tracks in the last 10 years and it's only been 7 years since In Rainbows. I don't know anyone who doesn't love Radiohead lol.

    I don't. I don't even think I can name 5 songs by them haha

  3. I don't mean literally everyone, but they have a fanbase that's far and wide, much like U2's.
  4. Let's be honest.

    Radiohead is selling out.
    *Shots fired*

Their releasing it through BitTorrent is no different than them releasing it through any other means because they are still charging customers for the album. From the consumer's perspective, it's another typical release. I still believe it's way more inconvenient to do it this way because BitTorrent is banned from most public-access internet connections and torrents in general are way less trustworthy.
  5. The only cool song I've liked by them is "Just". Sure i haven't really given them the time of day I suppose, but every time someone has shown them to me in hopes of making me find them interesting, I don't. People are always saying "man they're so experimental". People were doing what Radiohead did in the 90's a decade or so before.

that's the twitter account of the design team behind U2.
  7. Anyone think that Lucifer's Hands or The Crystal Ballroom might be released as the next single? Hopefully get a video for whatever song is. Being waiting for one for The Miracle.

So, selling an album for way less than usually and in a new way is selling out? How about letting a company pay much more than you could ever make with selling an album and than giving it away for ''free''?

If there is any band in the world, besides The Rolling Stones, who are in the business for making money its U2. Also the latest news about ''reshaping'' the music industry is just and only about making more money with album sales.

And in one of your other posts, you are saying that Radiohead isn't relevant. Who is? Only artists who sell or get plays on some show? Wich in this current time most of the times means they are making shit music (Helloooo Coldplay)?
I know Bono thinks that relevance means money/sells but we don't, do we?

Coldplay is on top of their game, actually. Ghost Stories has been a huge hit for them and has actually been able to patch up the rift in their fanbase that Mylo Xyloto formed.

Radiohead is absolutely selling out. U2's release was the announcement of a new partnership and we'll most likely see Apply footing a lot of the costs for their upcoming tour, just like Blackberry did with 360. In Radiohead's case, they aren't partnering with BitTorrent. They are basically using BitTorrent as a means to cut out the middleman, but as I said before, it's very ironic because it leads to the album being less accessible to those who don't go out of their way to look for it.

Regarding the music industry, I've felt for a very long time that the money is no longer in album sales. It's in touring. Most groups try to produce albums at a quick cycle so they always have something on the market, but U2 is probably one of just a handful of bands that can make a tour profitable. As I said, Coldplay's hugely popular tour just barely broke even.

And yes, I stand behind my statement that Radiohead is not musically relevant.
  10. Stop reading after: Coldplay is on top of their game.

Our opinions are too much apart Let's just agree to disagree.

On-topic: I heard on twitter that the album had been leaked or was just about to... God I want to hear the new songs so badly
