1. i'm definitely in the "it makes me feel uneasy" camp. i sorta get the idea they were going for but in the light of all the criticism surrounding the album launch i don't think it'll do them any favours.
  2. It would be fitting for them to change their name to wangmaster now, to come the full circle. That user name is brilliant
  3. Apart from the Unforgettable Fire I find ALL U2 album covers awful, and this one is no different.
It will provoke moronic responses from morons but all those issues aside I just find it dull, bland and boring.
Typical U2 album. Thankfully the content eclipses that

hahaha i was like 15 when i registered here and it made me chuckle then. now it's stuck like a bad tattoo

really? apart from Bomb and the original October i think they're all pretty decent. if you wanna talk about crappy album art Springsteen is your man
  5. Not generally a fan of the album cover. Not for most of the reasons above, though - I just don't think it really represents the album. Now I'm curious to do this, just for me...

Covers that represent the feel of their albums:
    -Boy
    -War
    -Unforgettable Fire
    -Joshua Tree
    -Pop
    -ATYCLB

The others, not so much. For the record, I have NEVER been a fan of the Achtung Baby cover, unfortunately.

Haha Springsteen's album artwork is generally terrible.. Save born to run and Nebraska.. WIESS goes alright in my books, along with greetings. The modern artwork? Don't even get me started.

Genuinely like your user name though.

Still think that the album art selection for this one is shocking. Truly poor. It's just not norm
  7. Norm? As in normal? What exactly is normal? A nice safe boring heterosexual band photograph? It's called cover 'art' for a reason.
  8. Try anything that's not so disturbing. A half naked adult male hugging a half naked child? Yeah that's going to go down really well with the public. They don't know it's a father and son. Even so, it's still creepy. What type of father embraces his child like that, half naked? Not to mention the lyrical content of Sleep Like a Baby Tonight
  9. I like it.

    Some other people like it.

    Some other people don't.

    Where's the problem?
  10. Plus, to me, looking at that photo objectively, not knowing that it would represent the album, and that the album is about one's childhood, there is no way in hell I think that the photo depicts a man holding onto his sons innocence, protecting it, whatever

Well there's also the little fact that it's an ALBUM cover, not just a photo you look at while visiting a photo gallery or something. It's a musical album cover art and it's inherently associated to a collection of songs. So there's no point in looking at it as if was a separate thing.
  12. I guess the album cover for NLOTH isn't art then either. Not to mention the fact that the SOI art was actually taken from a private shoot for an entirely separate use
