  1. So if you subscribed today will you get that book and then have to wait until this time next year to get the gift that will be available in a couple of months?
  2. I have emailed U2.com TWICE asking if one could "resign" to the current gift somehow and get next year's gift instead.


    I got zero answers.

    Good question. I've constantly renewed my subscription so my current account has everything available since U22.

    If so, I'd bet your book is being shipped right now - they probably have hundreds left over!

    A small problem (aka no cash on the card I was going to use, and no other card at hand by the moment) prevented me to, but I will in a few days if I don't get an answer.

    Please let me know if you hear anything as it might affect my decision.

    I really don't need/want the book as something to keep (although I'd be curious to see it once) and I don't want to wait too long if the new gift is something good - which it very well might not be since they are touring next year!
  7. Last nights' email from u2.com to their subscribers presents a competition to win a single disc SOI vinyl… as well as give a statement "And don't forget to keep an eye on the site later this week - might have a little exclusive coming up for our subs."

    …I wouldn't be surprised if they offer the second disc of deluxe version for a free download.
  8. Regarding the subscribers gifts… I understand it works in a way that if you subscribe now you will receive the current gift i.e. the book. Once they announce the new gift you will be able to receive it right away but it will require you to renew the subscription at that time regardless of how long your current subscription has time left. You won't receive the new gift if you do not renew.

    There may have been some exceptions but I think those are a matter of pure good luck... more or less. I don't think you can catch those intentionally.

    And of course there will be a some kind of bundle offer coming up but I bet that will take place after they announce the tour.

    My subscription cycle has always been desynchronized from their gifting cycle as I subscribed a couple months after U22 was announced and delivered. Edge's Picks and the other book came before I renewed my subscription as I still had about 4 months left before my subscription was to expire. My current subscription is set to expire in January, so I'm curious to see if they will require me to renew before getting the gift, that is if the gift comes before January.

    Yep, most likely. But I expect a tour announcement sometime soon and don't want to wait any longer. And perhaps I'll stay a subscriber for the forthcoming years.
