Well spotted Lovely version btw (much better than When You Were Young).

After seeing last night's performance at Italian TV, and knowing how high Bono regards the piano version, I think they're going to retire Miss Sarajevo as Bono's "vocal show off" and the piano version of EBW is going to take its place during the tour. Which is a shame

There is concrete risk. Would Bono manage to sing the song at its full band speed? He could barely sing some words -- he actually didn't -- in the third chorus the other night.
  2. I don't think we should be too worried about this. Remember their performance of One during opening night of 360? Even the pros have to warm up.
  3. Was I the only one who thought they sounded totally fine?
  4. I think it was good, plus the album version doesn't have the big "IF YOU GOOOO" all 3 times like in the acoustic version. The album version will be much easier for Bono to sing in my opinion. The only time he really belts out "If you go, are we so" is during the very end of the song on the album version. But I also think they sounded great the other day. We have to remember too, it was the very first performance of the song (A part from 360).

  5. There have been more noticeable mistakes before. Hawkmoon' false chorus start anyone?
  6. Ultraviolet and Discotheque also have mistakes.

  7. I know the UV one but... Discotheque?

None more annoying that the start of ISHFWILF though. I'll listen to Discotheque later to try and pinpoint it for you.
  9. I found the topic.

Do you like the version featuring just Edge on piano, or do you think they should bring out the whole orchestra?

  10. I'm not gonna argue with that.

Strange actually, 5 years to polish a song, by so many people, and there are still mistakes from time to time.

Interested in the dedicated topic btw!

I'm pretty sure the acoustic sessions were recorded in a hurry, not long ago, and maybe they didn't even notice EBW's mistake. But other mistakes are left there deliberately (Hawkmoon is a good example, they struggled so much with the song that I guess they thought it was ok to leave a little mistake in there - they could have silenced that false vocal start in 5 seconds).
