  4. I saw Beady Eye in 2013 and actually enjoyed the show. A small club, five feet away from Liam. Top gig. This said: the band had no future, and a split was inevitable. Most songs were weak. Sales were low. Totally dwarfed by Noel's HFB (saw them too). Ubi maior, minor cessat

    I wanted to post the new single when I heard it this morning but I forgot about it. What are your thoughts on it?
  11. Described by the singer as “one of the best songs I’ve ever written”, the new single features the fret work of Johnny Marr, a long-awaited collaboration with the Smiths musician.

    “I tried to get him to play on the last album but it never happened,” said Gallagher. “So when I put this track together and knew he would be perfect for it I called him and asked if I could send him the rough mix. He said: ‘No, I don’t want to hear it. I’m just going to react to it on the day.’ He didn’t even want any pointers. Well, that was brave of him. He just arrived with two guitars and a bag of effects pedals. And I have to say, he’s unbelievable. He’s way up there, on another level to the rest of us. The result is a burst of energy that helped make Mighty I one of the best songs I’ve ever written.”


    Can't say I agree with that one. I've only listened twice, but it hasn't grabbed me the same way "...What A Life" did the first time I heard that.
  12. I thought it sounded pretty dissonant (in a purely musical way) when I first heard it - way before reading that ^ about Johnny Marr featuring on it. Knowing that Marr is in there, I can see where Noel is coming from, and yes, the song definitely suits him. Objectively, it's probably a better song than AKA overall, but it's far less catchy and far less what you'd expect from Mr. Gallagher. But I'll take it if it means a new tour and a new chance to see him performing live (won't miss him this time!).
