Otherwise you're not gonna buy an album when there's torrents, iTunes, Spotify, Youtube... + You can burn the CD yourself then.
And those diehards (including myself, don't doubt it) are kinda irrational and ridiculous to spend money on any album nowadays.
You're not gonna tell me this isn't the truth.

Yes, I am. Did you read my previous post?

May I add: "Not only U2 which I'm a diehard fan, just all music that I like, including dead artists or newborn bands". And I refuse to think I am the very only person in the world who's still buying albums like it was 1985 There must be more people like me. Many more. What about people without enough iTunes (legal) or torrent/mega/whatever (illegal) knowledge/proficiency to download and burn to CD the songs? There must be a couple of hundreds of those around the world.

It's not like the album has sold 25 millions like The Joshua Tree... I think this figures are logical for an album that's been released for free through iTunes, but I don't think it's acceptable to say that these hundreds of thousands of buyers are throwing away their money. In my book, throwing money away equals to buy cigarettes or something like that, not buying a music album in which many people have worked and put their hopes and best wishes. Just my 0'02 tho
  2. I still like having the actual physical release in my cd rack. I don't know, maybe some just lack the appreciation for it. it gives me some sort of weird satisfaction to see the cd there instead of a .mp3 on my computer. thus it's no waste of money to me at all. maybe it's illogical, but owning the physical release - to me - feels more like I'm "possessing" the music than a digital file I can't "touch".
  3. It's just irrational and illogical to buy something when you can have it for free.
I don't understand why you can't see that.

  4. Some people distinguish physical music from digital. That's simple to see.

  5. Then, I just celebrate that there's so many irrational and illogical people out there inhabitating our beautiful planet End of the argument for me.
  6. Maybe it is because of my age (44), I prefer physical music above a mp3 file. I like to take a cd out of the case and put in the player. So nothing irrational, it is just a good feeling. I also collect Ferrari scale models in 1/43 (small format) and not the pictures of the model which can easily be found on the internet.

Great example I'd like to see your Ferrari collection btw!

(And I'm 24 but I feel exactly like you)

True. All people are irrational and illogical at some point. That's what makes us human.

  9. What's physical... You can only HEAR music, it's never totally physical
But I know what you mean.
  10. I like to have a booklet, a CD case, the original artwork, the look of the CDs in my shelf, the differences in quality while playing the CD. I love to sit and read the booklet on my first listen.

I don't see anything irrational in that.

Also, a soundwave is something physical. It's physics for Christ's sake lol
  11. Yes yes everything is matter, blabla.
Anyway, I'm gonna let you all enjoy all things you like and in any form you like at whatever cost. It's your own choice and if it makes you happy or happier, good for you !

  12. nope, I could not have the cd with the case and the booklet and the look of it in my cd rack for free and I want that, so I'm buying it. seems like a small amount of money, considering I also bought the u2 ipod for over 300€ back in the day ahum.
