  5. The fact that you all think my words are some sort of an attack, which definately isn't, and feel offended only proves the point. You know it's irrational but don't like to admit it.

    As I said before, I did NOT say it's wrong. As I bought the CD myself. I'm not rational either. Nobody is.
  6. I don't understand what's irrational about wanting to have the CD on top of the digital music. I just like to have it on my shelf with my other U2 stuff and bring it in the car to listen to because my car doesn't have an MP3 hookup
  7. Sigh... Because it's been given away for free before. You can burn the CD yourself. I've got both a burned copy and "the real deal". Really, it's no difference if you do it right. Whatever the common belief may be.

    3rd time : I've bought it myself. But on many occasions I come back from the CD-store and think "Ok, why did I just spend €100 on CD's when I've got most songs on my PC already ? I can hook it up to a pretty good audio system and it's just as good." And the answer is : because I like collecting it. I've got 300+ CD's myself. But it's still odd you do that when there's a(n) (almost) free alternative.

    It's more a philosphical question I think.

    And if you still feel offended (I've read my previous posts again, nothing offending there I think), well it just proves my point that somewhere you know you don't handle rationally on many occasions.

    And also the I-don't-know-how-many-time : there's nothing "wrong" with it, but it is rather strange and actually stupid. But that's what makes us human beings probably.

    SO : please all enjoy whatever makes you happy. (Also 2nd time I say this.)

    If you don't get the point by now, meh.
    If you still think differently : ok, fine, no problem.
    I'm not the guy to say what's wrong and what's right. And you aren't either.
    But this is my last post about this.
  8. If everyone was rational and decided that they shouldn't have to pay for music, the music industry would be 100% screwed.

    Actually, only artists that make money though touring would survive, which basically means the only relevant band would be U2 and some of the older bands that just tour.
  9. I just don't think it's "irrational" to want both. It comes down what you want, and if I want the CD on top of the free download I don't understand why that's so dumb. The physical CD and the download are actually NOT the same thing.

    I'm not offended at all nor am I trying to pick a fight, I'm just trying to show that while it's obvious you do understand what everyone else is trying to explain, you're also still saying it's irrational when it's really not.

    Anyway, we've all made our points abundantly clear - not let's move on to the next topic of discussion.

    My parents have bought the vinyl of SOI and I have to admit that it looks fucking ace, with the all black / white vinyl design. Frankly amazing (much better than the CD editions). They were somehow puzzled about the Larry&Aaron cover though, so I slightly explained it to them and they loved it.
