1. I don't think that's the reason. I honestly just think Larry and Adam won't go if they're not needed and the acoustic versions are a way to accommodate that. I also think they're (or just Bono) more fond of the acoustic EBW at this point.

They want to show people that they can write "songs" like they've been saying. This is the best way to do that. Magnificent, Breathe, COBL, and many other more recent hits would not translate like these songs do. That's the point I think.
  2. Asda not even stocking the album at all and this week it isnt even in their top 50
  3. Geez just had a look on Asdas website to find out just exactly where Songs of Innocence is rated and not even in their top 100,i know they give the album away for free but is there really so little interest among general public for U2 nowadays?? And just to top it off Taylor Swift at number 1!!!!
  4. It's N°2 here. Last week N°1.
    Ooh the irrationality

    (Just kidding)
  5. From the Rolling Stone "interview outtakes" (aka this article).

Songs of Innocence had some very different potential running orders.
Says Bono, "It used to start with 'This Is Where You Can Reach Me,' which was always supposed to be the first song, and then 'Raised By Wolves.' And the reason we changed ... we put the songs first, is we thought, "Well, if we're going to have 5,000,000 people perhaps check us out, a really long intro is probably not a good idea. Let's put the songs first, like on The Joshua Tree."

Ehrm... The Joshua Tree starts with U2's longest intro ever (Streets) haha. Pretty lame. But I like that they planned to kick off the album with This Is Where You Can Reach Me Now. A very different approach than The Miracle.

oh hell, now I have to burn another version of this CD again...

  7. hahaha I thought the same thing, man! Something like Reach Me Now > Raised > EBW (mix) > SFS > Iris > Volcano > Lucifer > The Miracle > Cedarwood Road > Invisible > California > Ordinary Love > Sleep Like A Baby > Crystal Ballroom > The Troubles... Could be interesting. It almost looks like a setlist lol
  8. ^ I like that one!
Indeed SOI would have been even better if Crystal Ballroom. Lucifers H and Invisible were in the normal tracklist in the first place!
  9. Gives me hope they'll play Reach Me.
  10. I haven't listened to a song from the album in over a week. All of the album and song topics are well down on the active topics lists too. Hmmm are we all guilty of over playing it?

It's still the only album I listen to. Been playing it daily for the full two months now. Will stop soon I guess
