  1. If his head feels fine, an acoustic set might be possible imo. It's not a full U2 show where he jumps and runs around.

    Btw, now that I think of it, he performed with a broken arm during the Joshua Tree tour too... Hmm

    I don't think that compares with these new set of injuries.
  3. He slipped on a wet stage in 87, this accident is a lot worse plus a 27 year old may be able to cope with an injury a lot more than somebody approaching pension age...

    I'm talking about sitting down on a chair to sing some acoustic songs, not giving a 2,5 hour powerfull performance for 50.000 people.
  5. They're definitely going to cancel soon... which sucks because this was going to be the first "real" U2 show since 2011 in front of an arena of almost 20,000. They had an hour and a half time slot so I was excited to finally get a look at U2 live nowadays.
  6. The fact that they didn't already cancel is perhaps a good and hopeful sign.
  7. I think doing the acoustic show isn't entirely out of the question. As has been said, Bono wouldn't need to move all that much.

    I'll be mighty surprised if he manages. Its not dust the singing. It's travel and rehearsals etc. By the sounds of it he will be under strict instructions to stay rested.

  10. I really will like if edge sings, maybe Dallas at stage help him at some guitar's parts, and even Terry lawless help him at keyboards, but i think that's almost impossible too
  11. I'm also surprised that an announcement hasn't been mad about the almost acoustic christmas lineup. I really don't want to see U2 there, especially given Bono's condition. He really shouldn't be pushing himself.
  12. I feel like everyone thinks KROQ's Almost Acoustic Christmas is actually an acoustic festival, it really isn't. It started off that way but now it's a big deal and it's at The Forum. Headliners get a full set 1.5/2 hours so I don't think they'll do it. And if they did a 4-5 acoustic set at this show they'll be a lot of angry people since tickets were not cheap and it was advertised as a proper show with Bono saying, "it'll be one epic party!" Acoustic set =/= epic party imo.

    I hope somehow no news is good news and they do perform there and blow the other acts away.
