1. Glad for you.
But apart from EBW, which is close to WOWY for me, and a catchy single (The Miracle, 8/10), the songs don't stick to me.
  2. It's a really good album to me, but doesn't sound classic imo. EBW is much better live acoustically and The Miracle is only about a 7.5/10 to me. Song for Someone has been played a few times on the radio here so that's exciting.
  3. To me it's classic, at least EBW and whole second half from Volcano to the end.
  4. Nice find! Interesting to see how they've let the idea sit and mature for so long.
  5. We're probably giving them too much credit, lol. I don't doubt they forgot about it for a while inbetween the last 17 years hah.
  6. Even if they forgot about it and it wasn't something they were consciously thinking about for a while, I still think it's impressive that they had this idea way back when and that they decided to seriously revisit it during a time when they were looking to try and reinvent themselves.
  7. Still gotta wait for the tour to be in full force before I can deem this a classic. I say it's amazing for where they are in their career, and there are some real gems on there. I don't think Sleep like a Baby fits as well as when I first heard it,.and Raised by Wolves, while a good song, is just too intense for me. I usually skip it. Replace them with Invisible and Crystal Ballroom and you've got yourself a more cohesive album (to me anyway).

  8. The Guardian and Billboard used it too

    http://www.theguardian.com/music/2014/nov/19/u2-to-release-songs-of-innocence-album-tie-in-films-of-innocence

    http://www.billboard.com/articles/news/6319982/u2-films-of-innocence-videos-beyonce

Billboard was a little picky by calling their article "U2 Copies Beyonce (Again), Releasing Video Album Version of 'Songs of Innocence'"...

Only a week to go until Films Of Innocence is released... I guess it will leak beforehand though
