1. I sometimes I wonder why U2 not has choose the song Mercy for SOI ?
  2. Not much to do with SOI? I don't think we'll see the song on an official U2 album, if Invisible was itself a ghost track...
  3. Mercy is a decent song - but leave it where it was: 2004.

Like Levitate - as much as I think the song is perfect - it should stay where it is: as an outtake and as it was. At least we have Mercy out there; maybe it will be on a HTDAAB re-issue in 2024 or whenever U2 see a need / if they see a need.
  4. I was lucky enough to be at the last ever performance of Mercy. Love the song

    god forbid
  6. It might as well be a part of Songs of Experience or Songs of Ascent.
Of course in a variation we hardly will be able to recognize it anymore, e.g. Lucifer's Hands vs Stingray.
  7. Simple answer is that Mercy doesn't really belong on SOI. It just doesn't fit. I do think it deserves an "official" release for the studio version, but I think it would have to come through a B-side or some special CD. For example, if they did a "Best of 2000-2010" it would probably go there.

And a HTDAAB re-issue? I wouldn't mind that considering that it was the album that got me into U2 to begin with.
