1. Hello
This year it was 10 years since the Vertigo tour started. So my question to you is: what is the perfect Vertigo tour setlist?
  2. Do we really need to celebrate this tour?
  3. Invented would be nice
  4. I can't see why not, but I might be biased.

I have fond memories of the Vertigo Tour... I attended my first U2 concert ever (2005-08-11 - Madrid) on the previous day to my 15th birthday. That was incredibly special and it's still one of the best nights I've had in my life. I thought I had just seen the most incredible show on Earth - years later I realized how wrong I had been (thanks to U2start partly)

I joined U2start on October 2006, while the Vertigo Tour was coming to an end. I remember following the last shows of the tour here (we were less than 1.000 users back then! The web was just starting over), these weeks were pretty special. We did a special setlist party for the Hawaii show (another killer setlist btw) and that was the bittersweet end of a really special tour.

Surely it had its flaws; Bono was terrible sometimes, his voice was pretty weak during many shows, playing Vertigo twice during the concerts was awful, he political section was too long (and the One speech became boring) and all that. But you can't deny it also got its great moments. The band became confident again after playing nothing but smaller arenas since 1998, they found a way to make their audiences realize some of the biggest humanitarian problems in history (AIDS, lack of respect for Human Rights, etc), the setlists changed more than ever in the history of U2 live and the audiences enjoyed every minute of the shows. So where's the problem? Long live Vertigo Tour!!!

  5. And in 2008 we got a great "after movie" U23D!
  6. My first ever U2 concert was the last show in Amsterdam of this tour, I was only 7 years old!
  7. I like the Vertigo Tour very much, visited Amsterdam 13-07 and 16-07.

16-07 is my favorite U2 concert of the 11 I have visited.

I prefer a setlist with al the songs of HTDAAB.
  8. The Vertigo tour gets a bad rap. Three main reasons IMO. The Pride to Streets transition and Streets flags vs the red background. Awful (It should be noted Bono did NOT want to play Streets for the Vertigo tour). Vertigo being done twice for most of the Euro tour (Cool as a surprise occassionally but not as a setlist staple). Dropping Running To Stand Still in favor of Miss Sarajevo. Criminal.

Otherwise this was an excellent tour with some outstanding performances. The return of Electric Co, Gloria, Running To Stand Still, 40, The Ocean, Wild Horses, Zoo Station and An Cat Dubh. They all may not have stayed the whole tour but their inclusion as semi regular portions of the setlist for portions of the tour is great on its own.

I saw 13 Vertigo shows and all but one were at least very good to excellent with 2 or 3 as some of the best U2 shows I have seen on any tour.
  9. Why should we celebrate Vertigo tour?

    Case closed.
