1. Alright... Keeping it real, and only using songs that were performed during that tour, here's my perfect Vertigo Tour setlist:

00 - Arcade Fire - Wake Up [PA]
01 - City Of Blinding Lights
02 - Vertigo / Stories For Boys (snippet) / It's Only Rock And Roll (But I Like It) (snippet)
    03 - I Will Follow
04 - All Because Of You
05 - Crumbs From Your Table
06 - Beautiful Day / Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band (snippet)
    07 - An Cat Dubh
    08 - Into The Heart
09 - Original Of The Species
    10 - One Tree Hill
11 - Love And Peace Or Else
12 - Sunday Bloody Sunday / Get Up, Stand Up (snippet)
13 - Bullet The Blue Sky
14 - Running To Stand Still
    15 - Miracle Drug
16 - One / Hear Me Coming Lord (snippet) / Unchained Melody (snippet)

    17 - Zoo Station
    18 - The Fly
19 - Until The End Of The World
20 - Where The Streets Have No Name
21 - Bad / Ruby Tuesday (snippet) / Sympathy For The Devil (snippet) / Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses (snippet)

    22 - Fast Cars
    23 - Discothèque
    24 - Love Is Blindness
    25 - ''40''

Dropping Running To Stand Still in favor of Miss Sarajevo. Criminal.

Otherwise this was an excellent tour with some outstanding performances. The return of Electric Co, Gloria, Running To Stand Still, 40, The Ocean, Wild Horses, Zoo Station and An Cat Dubh. They all may not have stayed the whole tour but their inclusion as semi regular portions of the setlist for portions of the tour is great on its own.

I saw 14 Vertigo shows and all but one were at least very good to excellent with 2 or 3 as some of the best U2 shows I have seen on any tour.
    All good points.

(Didn't know Bono didn't WANT to play Streets, holy shit, thank god Larry [was it him? bet so] got them to do it)
  3. Actually I think it was Willie that tried to convince him. Then Bono thought of the whole Africa theme and the flags and then he thought it was a good idea.

Good to know. A poor theme for Streets is better than no Streets at all, so thank Willie for convincing Bono

Haha, at first I didn't believe you, but this sounded so like Bono it's got to be true
  6. And about the setlists : don't now really. Never really dug into it because it was the time I became a real fan and I just missed the Brussels concert so kinda hated it really.

But the Chicago DVD is one of my favorites, so...
And I've the Hawaii gig on a CD for my car as well.
  7. I'm not big fan of this tour... not fan of the album, a lot of politics, not variable setlist on European leg... but of course I enjoyed all three shows I visited ( with the same setlist wit only one change).
  8. To Belgian Bono
Uhh, I remember this from Bono indicating it in an interview. Why would I make that up? I also have "other" sources that I can hear with my own ears. Thanks, I will be sure not to post further "tidbits" as I'm clearly making them up! LOL amazing

I don't think BelgianBono meant you were making it up, dude, take it easy It's just that the simple thought of Bono advocating for retiring Streets is hard to believe - for him and for all fans. No harm on saying that!
  10. I'm not and I was not pissed, no worries. But it did seem like an odd comment to make.
  11. I also remember reading that about Streets somewhere.
  12. I absolutely loved this tour. Even though I became a U2 fan in 2009, when I joined this site I immediately took to downloading every Vertigo Tour bootleg I could find. Those are what got me into U2's live performance style. I was also very impressed with the concert films they released. Chicago and Milan are both great, definitely much better that 360 from the Rose Bowl.

In terms of my favorite setlists, I'd have to say it's between Honolulu, the Saitama shows, and MSG with the amazing One performance.
