Interesting? Maybe? But Every Breaking Wave is the best and most powerful U2 song in years.
I was thinking about it today how "The Miracle" really struck me AND I love how it rocks but "Every Breaking Wave" stays with me. I love every version and it really does feel like it could knock me over.

'Are we so helpless against the tide?' kinda fits if you view all the people around them who don't think they should be together as "the tide".

a) The video is not about "the original meaning of the song". This song is like One. Some say that it is about Edge's love life, others say it is about Bono and Ali. Some people can say it is about God and speaking about U2, you're all probably right. But then, why is that important? This is not a video for the song, with U2 involved in the artistic decisions. This is a McArdles's project and she wanted to tell her story. Judge it by that, not by whatever you wanted to see for the song.
