I agree that things are better than then. I never liked the Vertigo look. Not seen Honolulu (:( - was that a * cough * ? ) but I think you're right. And I liked Islington.

It's amateur and the guy seems to have a problem with his thumb, causing most of COBL to have no video...but overall, it's good.

  4. Where I noticed the autocue was the end of Sunday Bloody Sunday on the official Slane DVD.

When Bono starts reciting names in memory of the Omagh City bombing (I am assuming that's the event the names correspond to). The first couple of names are mentioned without surname (as he attempts to remember without autocue), then he picks up the autocue in front of him. It's so obvious because when he eventually reads the names he looks like he is just shouting at the floor.

I noticed it the first time I saw it.

come on we can let him away with that., Wr are talkiing about actual song lyrics. 29 names and surname is slightly different
  6. Yeah I agree, it's just that I saw others starting to post occasions where autocue is used for speeches and other non lyrical banter.

It's interesting though in hind sight. I am sure most of us have seen SBS at Slane so many times we could probably recite those names in the same order without autocue.

    I can. Julia Hughes, Elizabeth Rush, Rico. . . . .
  8. "...Abenramos (excuse the spelling), Fernando Biascobalega, Esther Gibson, Anne McCombe, Vida Short, Adan Gallagher, Allan Radford, Fred White, his son Brian White, Brian McRory, Shaun McGrath, 29 people, too many!"

Bono doesn't provide all 29, but enough to convey the point.
  9. & the full names before Julia Hughes,

"(?can't understand) Skelton, Gareth Conway, Brendan Divine, Lorraine Wilson, Samantha McFarlane...

Trust me, I'm not playing it right now, but I can still here him say it in my mind as I write it.

  11. Watched Live 8 last night. Definite autocue during the speech before one as gmc said. I think Bono cheekily chesk his lyrics a couple of times after that too, so suspect it's scrolling during One. No sign during Beautiful Day or Vertigo though.

Maybe it's just some songs he doesn't want to fuck up as they have the highest noticeability factor (at the end of the day he's never got ASOH right but none of us care...)
  12. Which show, during the Vertigo Tour, did he get the lyrics to Walk On handed to him while performing with The Edge away from the main stage ?
